Duties & Responsibilities:
- Create Component Logical Symbols and Footprints
- Sets up constraint manager design rules and DFM rules.
- Perform routing assessment and project feasibility studies.
- Does complete PCB design from Data entry to Output of fabrication files.
- Some travel may be needed for training, off site meetings.
- Work closely with US PCB Design to resolve DFM/DFT issues.
- All other related duties as assigned by management.
+ Act as a PCB design engineer supporting complex circuit architecture / designs.
+ Realize PCB designs of high component density and high layer count while balancing the competing needs of the electrical design (e.g., high speed signal routing, EMI / EMC, Signal Integrity, HV creepage and clearance rules) with those of the manufacturing standards (DFM and DFT).
+ Participate with fellow PCB designers in best practices for layout and simulation of high-voltage signals as well as analog and power supply circuitry.
+ Elicit layout technique best practices from senior design engineers and incorporate those best practices into the PCB Design Group (i.e., gather, document, train others).
The products produced by Teradyne are dominated by technically sophisticated systems and equipment. Applicants for this position are expected to possess the following qualifications:

+ High voltage creepage and clearance rules and how to apply them
+ High-speed digital circuit design (i.e., PCIE, DDR4 speed and above

The Hardware Development Engineer will be part of a team responsible for supporting the hardware design of Energy and Transportation Solutions' hardware products and ensuring product specifications are maintained throughout the product lifecycle. This role will analyze, qualify, document, and test design changes on released products. This role will work with other engineers to define component placement and routing. The Hardware Development Engineer reviews and evaluates designs for compliance with system design and development guidelines and standards, providing tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.
**In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:**
+ Identifying and evaluating alternative components for cost reduction, end-of-life substitution, product quality improvement, and/or increased manufacturability.
+ Reviewing and verifying design and life cycle component changes for impact on function, performance, and regulatory requirements.
+ Presenting design proposals to local and US-based teams and participating in design reviews.
+ Working with layout guides to build prototypes of design change proposals.
+ Performing electrical and functional tests on prototypes.
+ Collaborating with worldwide teams in the areas of supply chain, manufacturing engineering, component vendors and suppliers, and quality engineers to maintain and improve the quality of existing products.
+ Running and understanding design change implications for agency certifications.
+ Developing a qualification test plan for approval of any alternate sources; conducts component-level testing and maintains test records of all qualification results (Pass/Fail)

**For This Role, You Will Need:**
+ Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or any equivalent field
+ Minimum 5 years of related work experience in Hardware Engineering or Component Engineering, including:
+ Analog and digital circuit design
+ Embedded microprocessor & FPGA design
+ Understanding of signal integrity for high-speed design
+ On-board power supply design (voltage conversion)
+ Familiarity with PCB design and layout techniques, component placement, and signal routing
+ Proven strong communication skills with the ability to relay technical information in English (verbal, written, and interpersonal) to exchange information on product architectures and design proposals with the US-based team
+ Analytical ability to resolve and develop solutions to moderately sophisticated problems
**Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:**
+ Understanding of electrical safety standards
+ PCB CAD experience with OrCAD or Altium is a plus.
+ Experience of working with people in multiple countries and time zones, exchanging information.

+ Update new release item models and parts information to have releasing Engineering Change Notice (ECN) validated, while obsolete items to have OBS ECN updated and reinstated items. Should add ENG Rein and update the last ECN all in the Oracle system.
+ Maintains monthly summary reports for tracking of prints, Bill of Materials, engineering specifications and source controls and supporting ECN's.
+ Maintains Engineering Notices log and follow up on outstanding issues with author (global designer).
+ Document and archive data for obsolete parts, including recording ECN numbers and obsolescence dates.
+ Maintains the master list of documented information (e.g., work procedures, forms, documented information and process flow) for completeness and accuracy.
