Position Summary:

The Grade Control Geologist is responsible for ensuring the accurate identification, delineation, and extraction of ore during mining operations. The Grade Control Geologist supports daily production activities by providing timely and reliable geological information to ensure adherence to the ore control strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct geological mapping and sampling of mining faces, blast holes, and stockpiles to differentiate ore from waste.
  • Supervise and validate grade control drilling and sampling programs, ensuring quality and consistency of data.
  • Analyze assay results and generate daily grade control reports to guide production activities.
  • Update geological and block models based on new data and reconcile actual production against predicted grades.
  • Provide real-time geological guidance to mine operations to optimize ore extraction and minimize dilution.

Qualifications:

Job Description
The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company's only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.

OceanaGold is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable
Engineer- Mine Planning,
who will ensuring efficient, safe, and environmentally responsible extraction of mineral resources. This role will report to the Senior Engineer - Mine Planning.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Develops short-term and long-term mine plans
  • Analyzes geological data to optimize plans
  • Assist in conducting risk assessments and developing risk mitigation plans
  • Examines and defines factors that could adversely affect project task completion, delivery of contractual work products or achievement of departmental and organizational goals
  • Identifies the risks of negative outcomes (including error or fraud)
  • Communicates the impact of identified risks and recommends corrective action
  • Analyzes the constructability or manufacturing feasibility of a project
  • Identifies and assesses risk, reliability, and/or uncertainty in the design of an engineered component, system, or process including its impacts on the environment, economy, and society

Qualifications

Job Description
Seeking a suitably qualified and reliable Senior Geologist –Exploration on a fixed term employment to support and assist the company in its pursuit of exploration and discovery of Au-Cu deposits in the Philippines. The role will report to the Superintendent – Exploration.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Utilize advanced exploration techniques, such as geophysical surveys or remote sensing, to identify geological anomalies and targets
  • Integrate geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to develop conceptual models of mineralization and exploration targets
  • Conduct detailed geological assessments and prospective studies to prioritize exploration targets and guide drilling programs
  • Apply advanced structural geology principles to interpret complex geological structures and their implications for mineralization and mine planning
  • Utilize geological modelling software and GIS tools to integrate geological data and develop three-dimensional geological models of mining areas
  • Conduct detailed geological investigations and assessments to identify exploration targets and optimize mine development strategies
  • Conduct economic evaluations and risk assessments of resource deposits, considering factors such as commodity prices, production costs, and regulatory requirements
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff members, guiding them in best practices for resource assessment and project management
  • Develop and implement drilling plans that maximize data quality and operational efficiency
  • Solve and /or elevate drilling issues by proper communication with concerned stakeholders
  • Interpret drilling data to support geological models
  • Coordinate drilling projects to concerned department and stakeholders
  • Develop solutions to mitigate risk and maximize value

Qualifications

  • Licensed Geologist
  • At least seven (7) years' experience in Mineral Exploration
  • Relevant experience and understanding of Au-Cu porphyry and Au-Ag epithermal deposits
  • Demonstrable understanding of current ore deposit models
  • Experience in planning, implementing, and managing drilling, geophysical, geochemical and reconnaissance exploration programs
  • Experience geological mapping and geochemical sampling methodology, including analysis of data, and interpretation and reporting of results
  • Proficient in geological interpretation, geological and geotechnical core logging, data management and target/project generation
  • Strong skills with Geographic information System (GIS) and Exploration/Mining software (MicroMine, LeapFrog, Mapinfo/discover, etc.)
  • Drive for continuous improvement and innovation
