Job DescriptionWe are looking for high-performing Java Backend Developers with strong expertise in banking and an interest in digital assets and blockchain. Our team is responsible for the implementation of Avaloq’s digital assets solution , building next-generation applications that drive innovation in the financial industry.

Your Key Tasks
- Develop and implement scalable and secure backend services for banking and digital assets.
- Collaboration with the Product Owner and Architect for specifications and design .
- Contribute to high-performance architecture and establish software design patterns.
- Lead development team, supporting individual grows and ensuring high quality of delivered solutions.
- Drive best coding practices and maintain high code quality through Unit and Integration tests .
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior team members.
- Take ownership of key backend components and deliver robust solutions.
- Stay informed about emerging trends in banking technology, digital assets, and blockchain .
- 5+ years of development experience preferred with a Bachelors degree in Software Engineering
- Full-stack Java development experience (java 17+) including knowledge of common tooling such as Spring Boot and JPA , GraphQL , Liquibase , and Spring Security
- Advanced proficiency RESTful API building
- Knowledge of traditional software development processes and tools, including Git , Gradle and Jenkins CI tool , JIRA , Confluence , Code Reviews
- Hands-on experience developing microservices using modern technologies such as Apache Kafka , REST APIs , containerization ( Kubernetes ), and cloud-based infrastructure (AWS , Azure )
- Testing frameworks: Junit , Mockito
- Basic Linux operating system knowledge
- Authentication and security over REST protocol
It would be a real bonus if you have
- Knowledge of Avaloq Core Banking System
- Passion for banking, digital assets and blockchain or previous experience in this field.
- Wealth management or private banking knowledge
- Knowledge of AngularJS in building UI applications
- Oracle, PL/SQL
