Nursing Assistant/Aide to the Midwife – PhilHealth Yakap Staff
Role Description
The Nursing Assistant/Aide for the PhilHealth Yakap program supports registered midwives in providing quality maternal and newborn care. This role includes assisting in clinical tasks, supporting patient comfort and safety, and helping facilitate the availment of PhilHealth Yakap benefits. The aide works under the supervision of the midwife and plays a key role in ensuring effective delivery of services and patient education, while also helping maintain proper documentation and communication across care teams.
Duties and Responsibilities
-Assist the midwife in prenatal, delivery, and postnatal care activities.
-Support mothers and families in understanding PhilHealth Yakap benefits and basic requirements.
- Help patients complete basic forms and direct them to appropriate personnel for benefit processing. Ensure cleanliness, preparation, and availability of delivery and postnatal equipment and materials.
-Provide physical assistance to patients (e.g., mobility, hygiene, comfort) during their stay. -Observe and report patient conditions to the supervising midwife or nurse.
-Maintain proper records and assist in tracking PhilHealth-enrolled patients under midwife supervision.
-Participate in trainings related to maternal and newborn care and PhilHealth program updates.
Qualifications
Graduate of a Nursing Assistant or Health Care Aide Program, or with relevant TESDA NC II certification.
-Preferably with experience in a hospital, birthing facility, or community health setting.
-Basic knowledge of maternal and child health practices and PhilHealth programs. Ability to assist patients compassionately and respectfully.
-Physically fit, organized, and dependable.
