ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives for bridge, building, and infrastructure design.
• Utilize Revit Structural, STAAD.Pro, and other relevant tools to analyze site conditions, structural loads, and design constraints.
• Utilize Revit Structural and STAAD.Pro software to create detailed engineering designs for bridges, buildings, and other infrastructure projects, with a focus on precast concrete elements.
• Design structural systems, including framing, foundations, beams, columns, and slabs, to support anticipated loads and ensure structural integrity.
• Incorporate precast concrete components into structural designs, optimizing efficiency, durability, and constructability.
• Perform advanced structural analysis and simulations using STAAD.Pro to validate design concepts and ensure compliance with applicable building codes, standards, and specifications.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary project teams, including architects, civil engineers, MEP engineers, and contractors, to integrate structural design elements into overall project plans.
• Perform quality checks on Revit Structural and STAAD.Pro models, drawings, and documentation to ensure consistency and adherence to project standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate of BS Civil Engineer (preferably with MS/MEng degree and/or certifications of relevant trainings in Structural engineering/Structural Design).
• Must have at least 5-7 years relevant experience in Structural Building Design
• Had experience in being involved to ALL 7 phases of a project (Project conception, planning & design, preconstruction, procurement, construction, closeout and post construction)
• Has experience in all aspect of the discipline for coordination (varies from Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fireprotection, etc)
• Have a good structural theory background.
• Have great communication skills
• Knowledge and expertise in various finite element software (ETABS, STAAD, Revit Stusoft most preferably)
• Knowledge and background in Tekla and Revit is an advantage
• Have experience with pre-cast structural elements (Required)

Job Responsibilities:

• Design structural components for large-scale projects, including analyzing survey reports, topographical maps, zoning restrictions and client requirements to ensure specifications meet project goals
• Review blueprints, plans and change orders to verify structural integrity of materials and designs, and perform complex calculations and use modeling methods to ensure correct results
• Participate in initial planning and bidding processes, including reviewing environmental factors, government regulations, constructions costs and risk analysis reports to prepare comprehensive study on all relevant design factors
• Research existing and new material technology to determine practical applications, strength and durability expectations and cost-benefits information, and prepare material recommendations for current and future projects
• Create and present structural overviews for upcoming projects, and develop reports that include technical details for engineers as well as big-picture analysis and cost estimates for project managers and senior executives
• Use AutoCAD and other drafting software programs to create 2D design documents and 3D models for individual components and overall structural plans according to client needs and project requirements for deliverable

Role accountabilities:

• Carry out a range of activities to support the development and implementation of engineering solutions.

His main function in the organization is to be responsible for analyzing configurations of the basic structural components of a building or other structure, calculating the pressures, stresses and strains that each component, such as a beam, column, slabs, and foundations, that will be subjected to dead loads, live loads and lateral forces due to seismic and wind factors. He must be able to liaise with other engineering designers, including architects-in-charge, to agree on safe designs and their fit with the aesthetic concept of design. He must be able to examine structures at risk of collapse and advising how to improve their structural integrity, such as recommending removal or repair of defective parts or rebuilding the entire structure. Be able to prepare working/erection drawings for reinforced concrete and structural steel, technical calculations, specifications and computer models of structures as submittals, for various issuance purposes. He must be able to assess actual site condition, analyse and approve results of tests by third parties as the project may require. Must have strong people skills to be able to liaise with building contractors and subcontractors to ensure that quality and integrity of design is achieved during construction. Very proficient in utilizing structural design software and must be able to interpret results of design accurately. He will be designing various projects local and abroad with strict adherence to latest local (and British design-optional) codes. He must possess strong and relevant technical background and can work with minimal supervision or under a dynamic team environment. He must be able to solve complex challenges related to his field of expertise and ensures the technical accuracy of his submittals. REQUIREMENTS

• Degree holder in Civil Engineering from a reputable Engineering University (licensed preferred)
• Minimum of 5-7 years of  relevant and diverse technical and design experience in structural engineering
• Proven ability to develop and produce structural designs using STAADPro, ETABS, and SAFE (knowhow in MIDAS is a plus).
• Proven ability to develop studies, reports, technical specifications, regulatory permit applications, construction estimates, and other project documents.
• Well-versed in the content and interpretation of the latest NSCP th Ed.) codes.
• Highly proficient (speed, accuracy, and technical knowhow) in utilizing 2D CAD software

• Responsible for daily tasks involved in design of facilities and structures.
• Under general supervision, perform all aspects of design which includes performing actual design tasks (conceptual, layout, and detail) and/or coordinating design and construction activities, studying, planning, programming, and various analyses.
