Team Management & Development
Supervise, mentor, and coach sales representatives to improve performance, product knowledge, sales skills, and customer service.
- Set sales targets and KPIs for the team, monitor progress, and take corrective actions as needed.
- Conduct training sessions; onboard new sales staff; evaluate performance.
Sales Planning & Execution
Assist in developing sales plans and strategies for assigned territory or product line to meet revenue and growth objectives.
- Allocate sales territories, assign routes/customers, ensure optimal coverage.
- Plan and implement promotional activities; ensure execution of marketing campaigns in the field.
Field Visits & Client/Customer Relations
Regularly visit customers (retailers, distributors, etc.) with the sales team to ensure product visibility, negotiate terms, resolve issues, ensure compliance with merchandising standards.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key accounts; identify and pursue growth opportunities.
Monitoring, Reporting & Analysis
Collect and analyze sales data (sales volume, margins, market trends, competition) for the assigned area.
- Prepare regular reports (daily, weekly, monthly) on sales performance, forecasts, coverage, product returns or issues.
- Monitor KPIs such as distribution, product availability, stock levels, order fulfillment, customer satisfaction.
Operations & Coordination
Coordinate with logistics / supply chain to ensure timely delivery of stock; minimize stock-outs or overstock in territory.
- Work with marketing to ensure availability and proper placement of merchandising materials.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, field rules, and regulatory requirements.
Budget & Territory Management
Manage the sales budget (travel, expenses, promos) for the assigned area; ensure efficient use of resources.
- Optimize routes and schedules for efficient field operations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
At least 2‑5 years in sales roles, ideally in FMCG / distribution.
- At least 1‑2 years in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Well‑organized, good planner.
- Ability to motivate a team and manage performance.
- Good analytical skills: able to use sales data, forecasting.
- Comfortable working in the field with frequent travel within territory.
- Proficiency with MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Sales volume (monthly, quarterly).
- Distribution / market coverage (% of outlets).
- Achievement of meeting/exceeding targets.
