Position Description

As the
Architectural & Engineering Design Planning Head
, you will translate our master-plan vision into built reality. You will lead and inspire a multidisciplinary design team - architects, structural and MEPFS engineers, CAD specialists - to deliver innovative, compliant and sustainable design solutions at every project phase. Balancing big picture creativity with technical precision, you ensure timely delivery of drawings, models and specifications that align with brand standards, cost parameters and regulatory requirements.

Key Results Area

Design Strategy & Standards

• Define and maintain SLIM's architectural and engineering design standards, reflecting brand promise, sustainability goals and user experience.
• Adopt and champion BIM workflows, green materials, and modular design approaches to optimize quality and buildability in close coordination with Land Innovation

Project Planning & Design

• Oversee end to end design planning from initial concept and feasibility studies through schematic detailed and permit ready drawings with Consultants.
• Ensure design milestones are met on time and within budget, coordinate handover to construction teams.

Technical Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Collaborate with QA/QC processes and serve as the team lead in peer reviews, code compliance checks and constructability assessments.

Team Leadership and Development

• Manage and mentor the design planning team (Architectural Design Officer, Civil/Structural Lead, MEPFS Systems Engineer, CAD Specialists)
• Identify skills gaps, recruit talent and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous learning.

Budget & Vendor Management

• Develop and manage the design department's budget: negotiate and oversee external consultant and vendor agreements
• Implement cost controls and value engineering initiatives to maintain design deliverables within approved financial parameters

Cross-Functional Partnership

• Collaborate closely with Land Planning, Project Management, Marketing, Sales and Operations to align design intent with market requirements and brand identity
• Participate in project steering committees, offering technical insights and ensuring integrated decision-making.

Qualifications

Experience:
12+ years in architectural and engineering design roles within real estate development or large scale mixed use projects

Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, MEPFS Engineering or related field. Professional licensure preferred.

Technical Skills:
Expert proficiency in Revit/BIM, AutoCard, structural analysis software, and MEPFS design tools, strong understanding of building codes, sustainability standards (BERDE, LEED) and construction methodologies

The Architectural and Design Manager is primarily responsible for ensuring all engineering activities are aligned to Brand specifications and are effectively executed, including but not limited to store planning, cost engineering, methods and testing.

About the Role

As a Project Architect, you will be responsible in handling the following:

Purpose and Scope:

• Supports Senior Architect in the production of high quality, cost effective, relevant, safe and customer friendly conceptual, schematic and construction drawings and designs in his/her specific project assignment.
• Assists in the supervision of an entire project execution particularly related to Design.
• Ensures the quality and timeliness of construction drawings and project execution.

Responsibilities:

• Assists in the distribution and production of conceptual, schematic, construction drawings and schedules to Project Architects.
• Performs actual drawing preparations of critical details such as section drawings.
• Assists in the review of plans, drawings and their details.
• Prepares minutes of the meetings, status report of conceptual, schematic, construction drawings, site inspection report and report on the coordination with site representatives.
• Coordinates with consultants regarding the design aspects of the project.
• Assists in discussing plans and drawings with the Project Development Team and Consultants for a specific project assignment.
• Coordinates the structural, electrical and MEPF requirements of the project.
• Assists in the monitoring of the production of plans and drawings and ensures that schedules are strictly implemented without compromising quality of work.

• Ensures that the projects comply to local, international and AMG standards.
• Assists in the monitoring and evaluation project status and progress.
• Evaluates and reviews designs and plans before, during and after execution.
• Performs coaching, mentoring and development of subordinates.

• Prepares and submits the following reports on a regular basis:

• Design Execution Status Report

• Rework and Design Rejection Report

• Performs other management mandated functions.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Architect
• Minimum of Three (3) years related work experience in Design and Execution, Property Development
• Must have experience in Mall/Retail industry
• Expert in the use of MS Office applications specifically MS Word, Powerpoint, MS Excel and MS Visio as well as other specialized software like SAP, CADD and others
• Expert in local building codes and international standards in design and construction industry
• Above average proficiency level of communication (oral and written) and creative thinking skills
• Knowledgeable in various design phases like conceptualization, schematic, design development, project handover and supervision
