In this full-time position, you will be responsible for managing inventory records and fixed assets, contributing to the overall financial health of the organisation.
What you'll be doing
- Record acquisitions, transfers, disposals, and adjustments of fixed assets in the accounting system.
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register and supporting schedules.
- Assign and track asset tag numbers for all new acquisitions.
- Compute and record monthly depreciation expenses based on asset categories and useful lives.
- Reconcile the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the general ledger monthly.
- Review depreciation schedules for accuracy and consistency.
- Assist in the planning and execution of periodic physical inventory of fixed assets.
- Reconcile physical count results with accounting records and investigate discrepancies.
- Coordinate with departments regarding asset movement and location verification.
