What You’d Be Doing In This Role
As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.
At The Moment, This Role Is Focused On
- Leading Canva’s marketing and growth strategy across Southeast Asia and Australia, identifying key opportunities, challenges, and levers to expand brand presence and user engagement.
- Developing and executing holistic go-to-market strategies in close collaboration with country teams, product, growth, sales, community, and marketing to deliver high-impact global and local programs.
- Deeply understanding market dynamics, cultural nuances, and user behaviours to effectively reach and resonate with a wide spectrum of audiences—including consumers, SMBs, educators, enterprises, governments, and NGOs.
- Building and scaling integrated campaigns across Brand, Growth, Social, and Lifecycle marketing, ensuring consistency and local relevance across the region.
- Partnering with cross-functional teams—Product Marketing, Product Growth, Brand, Creative, and Content—to deliver a seamless, delightful Canva experience across every touchpoint.
- Collaborating with PR and Brand teams to uphold and evolve our brand strategy while launching new initiatives that champion Canva’s values in local communities.
- Experimenting with bold, creative marketing tactics and creating repeatable playbooks to drive lean, scalable growth in emerging SEA markets and Australia.
- Hiring, developing, and empowering a high-performing team, fostering a culture of growth, ownership, and purpose-driven execution.
- 10+ years of marketing and growth leadership experience, with a proven track record driving brand awareness, user acquisition, and retention.
- A portfolio of award-worthy 360° campaigns, successfully launched across multiple languages and a mix of online and offline channels.
- Experience leading critical initiatives and building partnerships with government officials, business leaders, thought partners, and influential voices.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to distill complex, disparate datasets into actionable insights that shape high-impact strategies.
- A solid understanding of budget management, with a knack for identifying cost-effective approaches that maximise ROI.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, enabling you to influence stakeholders and bring clarity to complex ideas.
- A track record of building and scaling high-performing, agile teams across diverse markets—keeping them aligned, motivated, and thriving.
- A collaborative mindset and cross-functional leadership experience, with the ability to bring teams together and drive unified outcomes.
- High emotional intelligence and strong leadership, with the ability to foster trust, navigate ambiguity, and bring out the best in cross-functional teams.

Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in program or project management .
- Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to turn data into strategic insights.
- Proven project management skills, with experience handling multiple initiatives concurrently.
- Familiarity with CRM tools and loyalty program technologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Solid grasp of consumer behavior and best practices in loyalty program design.
