Requirements & Qualifications

• Registered Electrical Engineer
• Minimum 6 years' experience in the operation of hydroelectric/hydropower/pumped storage/water treatment facilities/dam project environments is

Technical Skills:

• Electrical Systems:
  In-depth knowledge of turbines, generators, and electrical equipment used in hydroelectric plants.

Job Responsibilities

1. Technical Knowledge of Hydroelectric Systems

• Mechanical and Electrical Systems: Understanding the operation of turbines, generators, transformers, and associated mechanical and electrical systems is crucial. The engineer must be able to monitor and control the mechanical processes involved in generating electricity from water.
• Hydraulic Systems: Knowledge of water flow control, penstocks, gates, valves, and water pressure is essential for managing the plant's hydraulic aspects efficiently.
• Instrumentation and Control Systems: Familiarity with the plant's control room operations, SCADA systems (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), and real-time monitoring systems to keep track of performance, alarms, and operational conditions.
• Power Generation Principles: Understanding how energy is converted from mechanical energy (water flow) to electrical energy and the operation of related equipment, including pumps, motors, and generators.

2. Safety Knowledge and Practices

• Safety Protocols: Ensuring that all safety procedures are followed to protect personnel, equipment, and the environment. This includes knowledge of emergency shutdown procedures, lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) systems, and safety checks for equipment.

Principal duties

Operations and Facilities Management

• Oversee the smooth functioning of all facilities and equipment, ensuring uninterrupted services to lessees, resident and visitors.
• Conduct routine inspections of all buildings to ensure cleanliness and safety.
• Ensure that all nighttime cleaning, maintenance and repair work is done as per schedule and complies with operational standards
• Coordinate with Property Management Teams for urgent repairs that need to be undertaken at nighttime
• Ensure cost - efficient utility usage at nighttime
• See to the observance and implementation of Security SOPs
• Respond to security incidents such as unauthorized access, disturbances, etc.
• Ensure compliance with fire safety, health and safety regulations and emergency protocols.

Lessees and Customer Service

• Serve as the primary contact of Lessees, residents and visitors during nighttime
• Act on complaints, service requests and urgent issues efficiently and professionally
• Liase with Lessees and residents for any concerns that may arise at nighttime
• Provide assistance to all visitors, as needed.

Crisis & Incident Management

• Respond to any incident such as power outages, security breaches or urgent maintenance issues.
• Prepare and maintain detailed incident reports to escalate to Management
• Activate Emergency Response Group (ERG) , as required.

Personnel Supervision

• Oversee all night shift personnel (security, housekeeping, maintenance, etc.) in various Properties ensuring they perform their respective tasks effectively.

Qualifications

• College graduate, preferably in Engineering, Business or Facility Management or related field
• At least five (5) years of work experience in managerial capacity in the same or similar industry.

The Operations Shift Engineer is responsible for the efficient day-to-day operations, maintenance, and repair of all technical systems within the hotel. This role ensures a constant supply of utilities, including water, fuel, and power.

A suitable candidate should be a licensed Mechanical Engineer with experience in building or hotel operations. He/she should possess expertise in heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), equipment systems, and plumbing. Likewise, the candidate must be willing to work on shifting duties, including Sundays and holidays. Knowledge of electrical and extra low voltage systems is an advantage.

Minimum Qualifications:
