Position Summary:
The CPAP Setup Technician plays a critical role in patient education and support for individuals beginning or resuming CPAP therapy. This position is responsible for conducting virtual
setup appointments, providing instruction and guidance to new-to-therapy and rePAP patients, and ensuring patients are on track to meet insurance compliance requirements. The technician also monitors CPAP compliance data and proactively engages with non-compliant patients to troubleshoot barriers and improve adherence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct virtual CPAP setup and education appointments for new and rePAP patients.
- Provide clear, compassionate instruction on CPAP machine use, mask fitting, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
- Answer patient questions regarding therapy, equipment, and usage expectations.
- Access and review PAP compliance reports using manufacturer platforms or integrated software.
- Identify non-compliant patients early and proactively contact them to offer coaching, troubleshooting, and support.
- Document all interactions in Salesforce (or other EHR/CRM systems) in accordance with company protocol and Medicare guidelines.
- Coordinate follow-up appointments and escalate clinical concerns to licensed clinicians as needed.
- Stay current on PAP devices, mask options, and compliance requirements across payers (including Medicare).
- Participate in ongoing training and quality assurance efforts to ensure high standards of patient care.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or healthcare-related certification preferred.
- Prior experience in DME, respiratory therapy support, or CPAP patient education strongly preferred.
- Strong communication skills, especially in virtual/video-call settings.
- Proficiency in using compliance platforms (e.g., ResMed AirView, Philips Encore, etc.) and documentation systems like Salesforce.
- Empathetic, patient-focused, and able to build rapport with patients in a remote setting.
- Ability to work independently while following established protocols and compliance standards.
Preferred Skills:
- Excellent communication skills is a must.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. - 2-3 years of BPO experience handling US Healthcare accounts is strongly preferred.
