Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists in the research and analysis of tax developments and their application to specific business situations
- Assists in other tax department activities, including projects, research, and tax examinations
- Responsible for checking the completeness and appropriateness of required accounting schedules, tax accounting reconciliation, and BIR Alphalist/summary lists reports vs. tax group's checklist of requirements for periodic Tax Compliance Review

- Proactive and able to work under pressure to meet client expectations and deadline
- Must be knowledgeable in BIR, BOI, and PEZA tax laws and issuances

Full-time-equivalent (FTE) who will be hired for Tax Analyst position will support tax related compliance activities of 3M Group of Companies in the Asia Pacific (APAC) Region.
Tax Analyst responsibilities at the end state will include, but not be limited to the following:
General
- Analyze discrepancies between SAP and OneSource (OTD) tax calculation relative to various data elements per validation against source documents (i.e., invoices, proof of delivery, etc).
- Analyzes data for appropriate tax technical treatment, timely and accurate reporting.
- Prepares data analytics for reporting to Tax organization, interdependent processes and other relevant decision-makers when requested with guidance from Specialist or Supervisor
- Prepares tax account reconciliation
- Collaboration with multiple teams, and/or leads team in tax compliance, governance or adhoc/special projects.
- Prepares and file VAT returns & ancillary reports
- Processes payment of tax due/ monitoring of refund collection
- Participates in ad-hoc activities (i.e., internal/external audit, tax audit, etc) as needed. Takes ownership and initiative of assigned tasks
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor level university college degree or higher in Tax or accounting preferred. Applicable professional certification preferred (CPA). In addition, a minimum of 0-2 years relevant working experience is normally required.
Skills
- Basic knowledge of theories/concepts and practices of Tax
- Basic knowledge in SAP and other connected applications (OneSource (Sabrix), is an advantage;
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office, Alteryx and other data analytics and collaboration tools;
- Ability to communicate in written and spoken English.

- Ensures timely filing and payment of all corporate monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns, supporting schedules and alphalists/reliefs which includes, among others, Value Added tax, withholding tax, Income tax, Final Tax, DST and other returns that arise during the course of business.
- Responsible for monitoring and preparing supporting schedules of tax related accounts (Input and Output VAT, TWAS, Tax Certificate on Hand, Taxes and Licenses, etc.) and ensuring proper balances are reflected.
Ensures correctness, completeness, and timely filing of Lessee Information Sheet, Inventory List and Books of Account to the BIR. - Ensures timely registration of newly incorporated companies to the BIR and LGU including its receipts and books of accounts.
- Prepares documents and data reconciliation for BIR, External and Internal Audit.
- Handles business permit renewals including local permits such as fire certificate, barangay certificate and sanitary permit.
- Perform other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or Management Accounting Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred but not required.
- Has at least 1 to 2 years of related work experience
- Knowledgeable in National and Local Taxation, Philippine Financial Reporting Standard and Lex Libris.
- Team player but can work independently with minimal supervision.
