**Position Responsibilities:**
+ Work closely with the business units to ensure smooth flow in the daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting cycle of the WAM US Retail and Retirement team.
+ Responsible for performing accounting and reporting activities such as preparing standard and non-standard journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, bank reconciliation, analyzing financial results, and preparing various reports for both internal / external stakeholders.
+ Maintain control / process documentation and prepare audit requests related to internal and external audit requirements.
+ Participate actively in process improvement initiatives by understanding and analyzing business needs and share best practices with other team members.
+ Compile ad hoc accounting and analyses for BU's and serve as back up support to team members as needed.
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience
+ At least 2 years of experience in related industry.
+ Demonstrates a working knowledge of accounting rules, regulatory rules and/or business processes as it pertains to the accountant's sphere of responsibility (e.g., a set of regulatory filings or account reconciliations)
+ Demonstrates broad based analytical and inquiry skills to understand legal entity financial statements, board reports, and/or filings.
+ Demonstrates an advanced knowledge of several specific reporting concepts as they relate to a specific area of focus (for example: specific footnote disclosures)
+ Proven ability to thrive in a fast paced, high-performing, and collaborative team environment while managing multiple, constantly changing priorities and ad-hoc requests
+ Effective interaction and communication skills with different cultures to communicate issues to management and collaborate with colleagues.
+ Demonstrates a commitment to attain a working knowledge of USGAAP, and IFRS17 accounting bases.
+ Strong computer skills and an advanced knowledge of MS Excel and the Essbase add-in (knowledge in Power BI and Alteryx is a plus)
+ Demonstrates a working knowledge of Lawson accounting segments and Essbase roll ups.
+ Demonstrates proficiency with JETS to create and post journal entries.
+ Demonstrates strong organization and documentation skills to evidence a clear audit trail for work performed

**Position Responsibilities:**
+ Makes recommendations for process improvements.
+ Shows a moderate degree of proficiency with reporting and analysis tools.
+ Works on semi-structured assignments based on existing practices and within guidelines.
+ Mentors staff accountants.
+ Compile ad hoc accounting and analyses for other business partners
+ Assist with internal and external audits
+ Shares best practices with other team members and makes recommendations for process improvements
+ Assists directors, managers and other team members on various projects and analyses
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent courses
+ 2 to 4 years of experience in Finance and/or Accounting in the insurance industry
+ Demonstrates a working knowledge of accounting rules, regulatory rules and/or business processes as it pertains to the accountant's sphere of responsibility (e.g., a set of regulatory filings or account reconciliations)
+ Demonstrates broad based analytical and inquiry skills to understand legal entity financial statements, board reports, and/or filings.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
