I. Job Purpose

Supervises the overall activities of the Unit to ensure accuracy of data and timely submission of regulatory and internal reports and provide Management with reliable and timely data regarding financial status of the Bank, in accordance with established Bank policies and within the required turnaround times.

II. Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attends to regulatory surveys and looks for alternative ways to answer these surveys.
  • Supervises the maintenance of an efficient and accurate management information system to reflect Bank's assets, liabilities, income, and expenses, and other records.
  • Identifies possible non-compliance issues and initiates correction of errors noted through coordination with originating units/Departments.
  • Continuously reviews unit's procedures and recommends means to reduce processing time of report generation compliant with Bank policies and BSP/PDIC/SEC/PSE/BIR regulations and Philippine Accounting Standards and Philippine Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Actively participates in the Bank's sustainable finance-related activities and performs functions as assigned, to help achieve sustainable finance and other sustainability goals of the Bank.
  • Attends seminars and training programs related to the job.
  • Performs other functions that may be assigned by superiors from time to time.

III. Job Qualifications

  • With regulatory reporting background for a bank, with a minimum of 3 years in a specific area as Officer.
  • Preferably with external audit experience.
  • Preferably with knowledge in BSP/PDIC/SEC/PSE/BIR regulations and new PAS/PFRS issuances and has the ability to apply theoretical frameworks in actual practice.

About This Role
Description:
The Regulatory Reporting Analyst on the Apex Finance team is responsible for handling regulatory reporting functions of the firm. This role interacts with several APEX teams, including Billing, Accounting, Treasury, Client Service, Operations, Compliance, and Technology.

The Regulatory Reporting Analyst must be a critical thinker, analytical, energetic, and possess strong attention to detail. Specifically, this individual is expected to focus on complex daily tasks, independently solve problems on behalf of themselves and other team members, help recommend and implement ideas that improve the overall group performance and become familiar with security rules relevant to regulatory reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience in broker-dealer accounting and broker-dealer operations.

What you'll do all day:

  • Protect customers. Assist the team in ensuring the firm is in compliance with Rule 15c3-3, (customer protection rule) in a constantly changing environment, which includes continually learning and applying the rules.
  • Report accurately to the SEC. Take a vital role in the preparation of the firm's FOCUS report according to rule 15c3-1. This will include preparing the regulatory balance sheet and schedules relating to regulatory capital charges.
  • Be involved in futures industry reporting. Have an active role in preparation in daily and monthly reporting for our futures business. Be active in continually developing and improving processes to ensure the firm remains in compliance at all times.
  • Participate in weekly and monthly meetings for reserve calculations and FOCUS reporting. This position will have the opportunity to participate in meetings which include executive members of accounting and operations on a regular basis. This will include presenting pertinent data to assist the team in making regulatory decisions.
  • Assist in the accounting close. Will create schedules and entries for the accounting close for regulatory reporting related accounts.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist with the monthly accounting close, particularly as it relates to FOCUS related items, including customer balances, stock borrow/stock loan, and fails to deliver/receive.
  • Maintain reconciliations of balance sheet accounts for review in monthly close meeting.
  • Prepare and file adhoc quarterly filings as needed with FINRA, the Federal Reserve Board and The Bureau of Economic Analysis
  • Take an active role in the calculation of the 15c3-3 weekly reserve computation, including completing schedules, researching issues that arise, and reconciling reserve bank accounts.
  • Prepare the 15c3-1 monthly capital charges, including haircuts, margin calls, and fails to deliver/receive, to arrive at net capital.
  • Calculate the firm's estimated net capital on a daily basis.
  • Calculate daily segregation requirements of the futures business according to Title 17 of the CFTC.
  • Drive process improvement. Continually search for more efficient and innovative methods of performing responsibilities through automation while maintaining a high level of standards in reporting to regulators.

The skills you'll need to succeed:
Required

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 2+ years of general accounting experience
  • Excellent attention to detail and an exceptionally high degree of initiative/adaptability

About The Role
We're looking for a detail-oriented and results-driven Regulatory Reporting Manager to join Remitly's growing finance team, based in our Bangalore office. This role is a key part of our Middle East and APAC finance expansion strategy and will report to the Head of Finance – UAE, who oversees regional finance responsibilities across the Middle East and APAC.

You will support regulatory reporting, financial policy execution, and internal coordination across regional finance, accounting, FP&A, product, compliance, and legal. This role is essential to building scalable finance infrastructure for our expanding regional footprint.

You Will

  • Prepare timely and accurate regulatory financial reports for multiple jurisdictions including the UAE (CBUAE, DFSA), Japan (JFSA), Australia and Singapore.
  • Own daily and weekly client fund safeguarding procedures, including reconciliations, reporting packages, and audit documentation.
  • Coordinate regional audit support, including statutory audit and client money audit deliverables, partnering with accounting, compliance, and external auditors.

You Have

  • 4+ years of progressive finance experience, ideally in regulatory reporting, controllership, financial audit, or FP&A within financial services or FinTech.
  • Knowledge of financial compliance and reporting frameworks under regulators such as CBUAE, DFSA, JFSA or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing regulator-facing reports, client fund reconciliations, or audit documentation.

The Regulatory Reporting role is an analyst position within the Controllers Organization that will report up through the Global Head of Regulatory and Capital Reporting. The individual will support the preparation, analysis and submission of regulatory reports to various constituencies (local regulators, U.S. Federal Reserve, OCC, etc.) based on applicable requirements such as U.S. Regulatory and local regulatory reporting rules and instructions. The position will have a high level of visibility within the organization with opportunities to work directly with other Finance and non-Finance functions throughout Citi, including the Businesses, Risk, Treasury, Financial Planning & Analysis, as well as Enterprise Technology, & Operations.

In this role, you're expected to:

  • Support the production, review and timely submission of regulatory filings and reports to U.S. regulators including reports such as FR Y-9C, FR Y-14, Call Report, FFIEC 009, FR Y-15 and others.
  • Assist in monitoring and managing key metrics associated with reports to identify challenges and issues. Support the execution of controls processes to ensure data accuracy.
  • Assist the team to drive process improvements to enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and transparency of the regulatory reporting process.
  • Work with peers and program leaders on the implementation of U.S. regulatory changes within the reporting framework.
  • Partner with Risk & Controls team to maintain and enhance an effective internal control's structure.
  • Escalate problems or issues related to processes, reports, or procedures.
  • Integrate established disciplinary knowledge within own specialty area with basic understanding of related industry practices.

As a successful candidate, you'd ideally have the following skills and exposure:

  • 0-2 years of experience within the financial services industry and regulatory reporting.
  • Basic knowledge of U.S. regulatory reports such as those mentioned above.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with ability to synthesize complex concepts.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills and an ability to identify conflicts, discrepancies and other issues and escalate to seniors.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and tasks in a complex and dynamic and work well as part of a team.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration)

Organizational Overview:

Controllership organization within Finance COE responsible to monitor day-to-day accounting activities involved in Synchrony business. Controllership mostly covers general accounting, client accounting, reconciliations, closing & reporting, system maintenance, governance related sub-processes. Every process contributes to our quarterly & annual financial close process and ensure that we have accurate external reporting.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Support the preparation of daily/weekly/quarterly/annual regulatory reporting schedules, as required.
  • Assist Regulatory Reporting team projects through managing accountability, responsibility, dashboard reporting, & tracking.
  • Maintain appropriate job-aids, procedures and policies, as required.
  • Support Quality Assurance, Internal audit and regulator inquiries and requests.
  • Assist in Systems implementation and automation efforts Participate in process improvement projects and initiatives
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned from time to time

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and minimum 3 years accounting experience in Banking or Financial Services industry, or in lieu of a degree minimum 7 years of experience in the Banking or Financial Services industry
  • Proficient use of financial systems (HFM, Hyperion databases & Oracle Financials Data Warehouse (OFDW)) and Microsoft Office (Excel)

Desired Characteristics:

  • Regulatory Reporting experience
  • Experience with Axiom ControllerView
  • Strong US GAAP and Technical Accounting knowledge preferred but not required
  • Previous experience in the Financial Services Industry
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office products, and systems and other analytical tools including Hyperion database, Oracle discoverer and Business Objects
  • Strong communication, research, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities in a team oriented environment
  • Ability to lead multiple projects/priorities and drive each to completion
