**Job Description**:
**The Safety Specialist is responsible for coordinating and implementing Occupational Safety and Health plans and programs of Pilmico. He/she inspect workplaces for adherence to regulations on safety, health, and the environment. He/she also develops programs to prevent harm or injury to workers and damage to the environment.**

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
- ** Identifies and evaluates hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace. **Conducts on-site inspections to assess physical conditions and safe work practices.** **Implements immediate corrective actions appropriately.**
- ** Develop controls for identified hazards and unsafe conditions. Measures and **evaluates the effectiveness of the hazard control system, policies, and procedures** **and recommends changes if necessary.**
- ** Reports, analyzes, interprets all incidents, or accidents and loss. Review injury and **property damage reports. Prepares comprehensive recommendations for corrective action of an incident. Develops and implements recurrence prevention programs and **procedures.**
- ** Provides continuing education and oversight to all employees, business partners and **other third parties to ensure consistent implementation of plans and programs.**
- ** Directs industrial hygiene, occupational and general safety programs to ensure a safe **environment and comply with safety standards.**
- ** Facilitate compliance with occupational health and safety (OSH) guidelines. He/She **will provide advice on measures to minimize hazards or unhealthy situations. He/She will also be on a constant lookout for violations.**
