Job Brief:
The role will be responsible for supporting end-to-end project accounting life cycle activities for assigned accounts and projects. The role will be involved with stakeholder coordination to execute processes that will drive the completion of assigned projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform moderately complex tasks that support multiple and varied projects in compliance with the contract, service level agreement, define methodologies, and procedures.
- May need to provide guidance to junior members of the team.
- Reviews project financials for accurate revenue recognition.
- Perform in-depth project analysis and provide recommendations based on findings.
- Provide analysis, resolutions, and recommendations for moderately complex process improvements and technical issues through existing technical procedures and methodologies.
- Support the Team Lead/Manager in handling escalations and managing disputes related to project financials.
- Maintains and prepares SOP/DTP of current processes and the incorporate documentation updates.
- Participate in audit-related activities and prepare audit responses.
- May support junior members of the team in addressing routine issues within the assigned processes.
- Propose alternatives in identified issues and assist in investigating and in resolving common and unusual issues.
- Contribute specialized expertise to different assigned projects and may provide key updates to Team Lead and Manager.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be willing to work 2-3x per week in the office
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent relevant courses
- 4-5 years of relevant experience in Project Accounting
- Knowledge and understanding of end-to-end project lifecycle, project accounting concepts & methodology, and contract types
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office tools & MS Teams application
- Experience in a shared service or captive set-up is an advantage
- Experience working with ERP, e.i., Oracle and Blackline Systems is an advantage or other similar platforms and tools

I. POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Accounting Assistant - Project Accounting is responsible for ensuring the financial accuracy and integrity of project-related transactions. Key duties include monitoring, tracking, and recording all project expenses, categorizing them according to project codes and cost centers. The role involves prompt processing of vendor and contractor billings, preparing detailed expense reports, and assisting in the preparation of project budgets and financial forecasts. The Accounting Associate reconciles month-end balances, prepares and posts adjusting journal entries, and supports the project accountant in generating financial reports and analysis for stakeholders. This position is crucial for maintaining compliance with project budgets and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
II. POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
● Monitor, track, and record all project-related expenses to ensure accuracy and compliance with project budgets.
● Ensure expenses are accurately categorized according to project codes and cost centers.
● Process vendor and contractor billings promptly, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete.
● Prepare detailed expense reports for project tracking and management review.

○ Record and review liquidation of expenses.
● Monthly:
○ Reconcile month-end balances of subcontractors.
○ Prepare the subcontractor payable book.
○ Record monthly adjustments and ensure accuracy of financial records.
● Annually:
○ Provide necessary documents and support for audits.
○ Prepare year-end project expense reports.
● As Needed: ○ Prepare special financial reports for management and stakeholders.
○ Conduct ad hoc analysis and reporting as requested.
○ Handle administrative tasks related to project accounting.
IV. JOB REQUIREMENTS
● Education: Degree in Accounting or relevant experience and training.
● Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy to ensure the integrity of financial data. The ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.

- Advanced experience in Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word) is required;

· Chair monthly project cost review meetings with project stakeholders, including preparation of consolidated cost summaries and analyses;
• Managing of invoice processing and ensure timely payment of suppliers;
• Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to ensure timely payment distribution to suppliers while ensuring internal control requirements are satisfied;
• Provide compliance guidance (SOX, company policy and etc.) to stakeholders to ensure the integrity of project controls and global standards;
• Assist in the preparation of project funding reports, including monthly cashflow forecasts and loan draw submissions; and support with month end tasks such as, month-end reconciliation, journal processing and accrual calculation
Assist the Director of Construction Accounting with the system Configuration/Integration and process optimization for emerging markets. This will involve the following:
• Support on Yardi Job Cost subledger configuration to achieve required standard construction accounting objectives and requirements to satisfy broader accounting, finance and tax objectives; and
• Lead the day-to-day efforts of preparing portfolio integration into Yardi Job Cost subledger from PCTs.
