Key Responsibilities:

  • Platform Management:
    Overseeing the entire Power BI environment, including the Power BI Service, Power BI Desktop, and associated tools. This involves managing tenant settings, monitoring system health, and optimizing performance.
  • User & Security Management:
    Managing user access, roles, and permissions within workspaces. This includes implementing row-level security (RLS) to ensure users only see the data they're authorized to view, as well as integrating with Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) for user authentication and authorization.
  • Data Gateway & Refresh Management:
    Configuring and maintaining data gateways to connect Power BI to on-premises data sources. They're also responsible for scheduling and monitoring data refreshes to ensure reports and dashboards display up-to-date information.
  • Governance & Compliance:
    Implementing and enforcing governance policies, best practices, and security standards for the Power BI environment. This ensures data integrity, compliance with regulations, and consistent reporting across the organization.
  • Troubleshooting & Support:
    Acting as the first point of contact for platform issues, including troubleshooting problems with data refreshes, connectivity, and report performance. They also provide technical guidance and support to end-users and report developers.
  • Capacity Planning & Licensing:
    Monitoring usage and performance metrics to manage capacity and resource allocation effectively. This includes managing user licenses (e.g., Power BI Pro, Premium per User, Premium) and planning for future growth.
  • Automation:
    Using scripting tools like PowerShell and the Power BI REST API to automate routine administrative tasks. This can include managing workspaces, refreshing datasets, and enforcing security policies.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience with PowerBI Infrastructure
  • Preferably with background in AWS and Data Warehousing
  • Preferably with experience/knowledgeable in Python and other SQL languages

Education / Certifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in ECE, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or any IT / Computer-related course.

  • Responsible for data federation - combining the data result sets across multiple sources. Extract, format and transform data from multiple sources. Carry out and improve complex data seeking practices to capture data sources for use in various analyses
  • Identifies the need of data sources, designs required data integration and collaborates with ASL, Local IT or BSA for proper data sources mapping to ensure completeness, compliance, and accuracy of the dashboard outcomes. Align and obtain approval from ASL team (if applicable) in case of usage of new data sources
  • Develop dashboards using the relevant data visualization tools (PowerBI, and other apps like PowerQuery) to provide markets and internal teams with real-time visibility of the business performance

  • Creating a unique and custom look and feel for every proposal from scratch, with the with the company's branding/look/feel in mind to win project work. This includes looking at a company's website and social media to understand their branding.
  • Designing/creating additional creative materials (e.g., posters, booklets, pamphlets, etc.)
  • Consulting with research project teams on design advice & requests

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 2 years of graphic design experience, preferably in a market research capacity
  • Experience visualizing data, with a knowledge of standard chart types
  • Capable of storytelling through visuals, iconography and imagery.
  • Understanding of research methodologies or a willingness to learn more about them
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Experience in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Google Slides
  • A natural eye for visual design and interest in more formal design training
  • Interest and willingness to work both collaboratively and independently
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Original thinking, both creatively and critically
  • Adaptability – being able to adapt to changing timelines and roll with the punches
  • Ability to multi-task, often times we work on more than one project at a time.
  • Ability to edit video is a bonus

Work Setup: Hybrid (once a quarter onsite)

The Position:

This position will help support the technical needs of the Strategic Analytics team. The focus of the position is to create and support dashboards developed in Microsoft Power BI, R/Python, and other visualization software that will assist the business in uncovering actionable insights. As a key member of the team, you will work closely with business users, data engineers, and data scientists to provide customized visualizations that facilitate an interactive and user-friendly experience

Job Responsibilities:


• Develop dashboards from a wireframe in Microsoft Power BI


• Understand the data and build complex data models in the visualization tool sufficing

reporting needs


• Develop SQL Scripts as needed to pull the data from various sources (SQL Server, Azure

SQL Server, Snowflake) and transform as needed for reporting


• Develop pixel perfect reports where appropriate


• Build & support applications in Power Apps and integrate it with Power BI


• Automation of various manual tasks


• Research marketplace visuals and R/Python visuals to create new dashboard

enhancements


• Microsoft Power BI regression testing


• User Maintenance - adding new users and removing ones from the system. Keeping track

and re-assigning licenses as needed


• PowerBI log analysis


• Ability to troubleshoot and maintain existing VBA scripts


• Monitor email outputs from existing scripts and escalate as needed

Required Skills/Experience:


• Experience in
SQL, Power BI, Visualization Software
are required.


• Preferably with experience in SSRS, Power Apps, Microsoft Flow, Excel VBA Scripting, R/Python,

JavaScript/Angular JavaScript


• The ideal candidate would have experience in developing and supporting visualization

applications, and be aware on how to do build the data model in Power BI and have a very good

understanding of
Power query and DAX
. Candidate should be able to do basic trouble-shooting

and log analysis, root cause analysis, and coordination with multiple IT teams for support


• Power BI is the main application that the candidate will be developing and supporting, and the

ability to work with the users to make change requests and potentially design dashboards is ideal


• Candidate with experience in building geomapping visualizations would be preferred


• Candidate should have intermediate experience building Paginated reports using Power BI Report

Builder or prior experience in SSRS would be preferred


• Intermediate experience in building dashboards in Power BI embedded capacity or building BI

solutions leveraging web technologies (JavaScript, Angular JS) would be plus


• Intermediate experience in Power Automate Platform


• Continue to maintain the existing PowerBI dashboards and to add new features and functionality

as requested by the SA team and the business users


• Ability to clearly communicate across multiple teams, and the ability to communicate and

escalate major issues when appropriate


• Ability to perform the tasks in Power BI with minimal assistance


• Candidate should be willing to explore & research new tools and technologies based on the

guidance from SA team
