THE JOB: In-charge to handle the installation, troubleshooting, repair and preventive maintenance of electronic control systems, programmable logic controller and other equipment used in manufacturing operations. Maintains program back-ups for PLC and variable frequency drives. Accomplishes electronic/electrical control repair jobs based on contingency requirement and target schedule. Troubleshoots and repairs solid state motor drives, solid state temperature controllers and computer-based controllers. Recommends necessary changes in circuitry to simplify assembly and maintenance. Checks newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.

THE DESIRED CANDIDATES:

Graduate of Electrical Engineering Technology course

Has at least two (2) years relevant work experience as industrial electrician, specifically in troubleshooting programmable logic controller and installation of electrical control wiring

Able to analyze and interpret data from solid-state motor drives, controller scope meters and other troubleshooting equipment

Capable of reading and interpreting electronics schematic diagram and electrical drawing/plan

Computer literate

Job Purpose

The PLC Technician supports the reliable operation of Home Care and Personal Care production lines, with focus on Soap and Alcohol/Fragrance processes. This role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and other automated systems. The technician will also assist across different plant areas and work on a rotating shift schedule to meet production and maintenance requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and programming issues on PLC-controlled equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, including software backups, inspections, and component replacements.
• Apply minor programming changes (e.g., ladder logic, structured text) to improve system performance.
• Calibrate and adjust sensors, actuators, and control loops to ensure accuracy.
• Monitor automated machinery to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Provide technical support during shift rotations and respond to equipment breakdowns.
• Assist with equipment installation, upgrades, and improvement projects.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and modifications in records and digital systems.
• Follow all safety, health, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Certificate in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 2–3 years' experience in manufacturing, preferably with PLC-based automation.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
• Hands-on experience with PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Omron).
• Familiarity with HMI setup and industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus).
• Ability to interpret electrical diagrams, PLC logic, and technical manuals.
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently when required.
• Flexible to work rotating shifts, weekends, and attend urgent maintenance needs.

1. Troubleshoots, diagnoses and repairs programmable logic controllers (PLC), milling proprietary software, human machine interface (HMI), variable frequency drives, soft starters, interlocking devices and other related process instruments.
2. Perform program migration (downloading/uploading) of computer-based control of process equipment.
3. Perform online troubleshooting of milling propriety software in coordination with Mill manufacturer.
4. Perform in-house calibration of process instruments and other related automation devices.
5. Plan-out and implement annual preventive maintenance of plant automation system.
6. Monitors and ensure availability of critical spareparts (hardware) and updated software of plant automation system in coordination with maintenance service provider and Original Equipment Manufacturer.
7. Prepares and maintain updated masterlist of process automation devices, controllers and instruments.
8. Recommends and/or implement cost reduction or process improvement projects related to plant automation system.

We are looking for a highly motivated Proposal Engineer – Industrial Automation to join our Digital Industries team. You will play a key role in developing and delivering technical proposals for automation solutions, ensuring they are both technically sound and commercially viable.

• Prepare and deliver high-quality technical proposals for automation systems (PLC, SCADA, HMI, DCS, Networking, VFD, and Instrumentation).
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and commercial teams to align proposals with client needs.
• Review and interpret tender documents and customer specifications to define scope, assumptions, and deviations.
• Utilize Siemens engineering tools (TIA Portal, WinCC, PDM, Step 7, PCS 7, PIA Portal) for configuration, costing, and reporting.
• Support pre-sales activities such as client presentations, technical clarifications, and proposal revisions.
• Maintain proper documentation of proposals, approvals, and handovers.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronics, Mechatronics, or Controls Engineering.
• 2–5 years of experience in industrial automation, preferably with Siemens systems.
• Proficiency in proposal tools (Excel, Visio, MS Project) and Siemens configuration platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Familiarity with project workflows, resource planning, and productivity reporting.
