I. Job Purpose
To provide high-level technical work by performing all other duties as assigned not limited to 2D drafting, 3D modeling, and producing high-quality deliverables such as plot plans, general arrangement drawings, piping plans, isometric drawings, material take-off, etc. while ensuring conformance to all Codes and procedures related to engineering functions, labor reporting, and systems reporting; and active interface with the project team, vendors, and clients. II. Key Outputs
1. Engineering and Design
- Works on a specific project to complete, working as a fully competent engineer in all conventional aspects of the subject matter or the functional area of the assignment;
- Considers construction costs, government regulations, potential environmental hazards, and other factors in planning stages and risk analysis;
- Interprets and applies code requirements;
- Makes decisions independently on engineering problems and methods;

- Prepares piping package deliverables with safety, maintenance, operability, and cost-efficient considerations;
- Coordinates with other engineers to ensure that interrelated work is considered in the work assigned;
- Reviews engineered drawings for consistency with work scope and adequately addresses input from disciplines;
- Evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications;
- Prepares vessel nozzle orientation drawings;
- Conducts vendor document reviews and model reviews;
- Performs line studies;
- Prepares platform and ladder arrangements;
- Performs site visits and project walk-downs requiring climbing and as-built information gathering. This may require working with surveying equipment and other measuring tools.
- Performs other tasks that the immediate superior may assign.
2. May be nominated for a Project Lead Role to perform the following:
- Performs as a senior professional in a lead capacity in planning, preparing, and supervising the development of detailed designs and specifications for small projects;
- Participates in project planning and preparation of budgets and estimates;
- Assists designers in the proper execution of drawings.
- Prepares scope documents, manhour estimates, schedules, earned value progress reports, and change control;
- Prepares cost estimates.
III. Minimum Qualifications
1. Education:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- A professional license is desired but not required.
2. Experience:
- At least five years of experience in the same field of work.
3. Skills and Knowledge:
- Knowledge of piping discipline and general knowledge of other disciplines
- Knowledge of the design, selection, and application of pipe-supporting elements
- Knowledge of internal economic factors affecting assignment areas (costs, margins, profit impact of decisions)
- Overall understanding of technical disciplines and project execution
- Must know ASME B31.1 and ASME B31.3
- Familiarity with API codes
- Preferably with Power Plant design experience.
- Must have the knowledge and/or experience with AutoCAD software
- Ability to navigate a 3D CAD model
- Knowledge of Basic Piping Stress
