This Payroll System Coordinator (fixed term contract- one year) is responsible for reviewing business requirements for enhancements to existing payroll system functionality and analyzing them against delivered functionality for Payroll applications. Incumbent will provide queries, reports and analyses from the time keeping system to identify potential compliance issues on FMCNA pay policies. Incumbent will serve as a subject matter expert on payroll system functionality and provide support to all payroll users. Incumbent will also be responsible to identify opportunities for process improvement and system optimization.
Responsibilities:
- Identifies and directs appropriate testing to ensure that any new system functionality, patches, and software upgrades have been properly tested and perform to specifications before they are applied to the production environment
- Independently responsible for driving project initiatives. Develops, participates in, and identifies opportunities for process improvement, and works with appropriate partners to implement new procedures to enhance processing efficiencies.
- Incumbent will be the subject matter expert and provide support to all payroll personnel for questions about functionality for the relevant payroll systems
- Incumbent will serve as the key contact to work with IT and HRIS to discuss and coordinate systems changes
- Proactively develops queries and processes to review payroll system data integrity and identify potential transactions that do not comply with FMCNA pay policies
- Ensures that the payroll department is appropriately positioned to support all acquisition and startup activity. Works with business acquisition teams to prepare payroll for seamless transitions.
- Incumbent will work closely with IT, HRIS, and other payroll management to identify, address, and resolve all system-related issues
- Applies quality improvement techniques by implementing data measurement and developing analytics where necessary. Identifies root cause of problems, and implements appropriate correction action
- Incumbent is adept at addressing highly complex issues with varied and multi-faceted factors which require a depth and breadth of knowledge, experience, and skills to successfully evaluate and resolve
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Human Resources, or related field
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in payroll systems or payroll operations
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Kronos, Workday, or similar), including configuration, functionality, and reporting
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting
- Experience with system testing, upgrades, and patch implementations
- Proven ability to identify and resolve complex system issues and recommend improvements
- Demonstrated ability to lead or support projects and drive process improvement initiatives
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience supporting organizational changes from a payroll systems perspective is a plus
