Job description

• Maintain regularly updated patient medical records that document all evaluations, medications, treatments, allergies, test results and other records
• Evaluate a patient's symptoms and determine the most appropriate course of treatment to address them
• Prescribe medications in compliance with state and federal statutes and inform patients of all possible risks, complications and interference with other medications they may be taking
• Supervise and evaluate Medical Assistants to ensure full compliance with regulations and make sure that the current care program is as effective as possible
• Consult patients on topics such as proper nutrition, fitness and hygiene to assist them in making informed decisions and taking good care of their health
• Evaluate patients and provide appropriate medical attention and treatment for illness, injury, and routine care
• Create care plans, coordinate diagnostic tests and other services, and counsel patients on preventive healthcare practices

Job Purpose:

The Pre-Approval Officer - Medical Benefits will work within the Medical Benefits team and will be responsible for issuance of pre-approvals to medical providers for specific services mentioned in the contractual SOP. The role holder will manage telephone and system approvals and be responsible for confirming cover based on member's eligibility, scheme terms and utilisation history.

Minimum Requirements:

Follow-up Physician

• Ensures the completeness of the PEME package of the assigned maritime company.
• Conducts proper evaluation of the patients' pending medical procedure and medical result.
• Prescribes necessary medications based on the patients' medical condition.
• Able to identify conditions that are for additional, repeat test, and referral.
• Able to provide clear explanation of the medical results to the patients
• Able to conduct telemedicine consultations with patients.
