The Nutritionist-Dietitian is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and monitoring the nutritional care of patients in the hospital. The role ensures that all patients receive appropriate dietary management in line with their medical condition, nutritional needs, and physician's orders, while promoting overall health and recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patients' nutritional status through diet history, anthropometric measurements, and laboratory results.
- Develop individualized meal plans and therapeutic diets based on patients' medical conditions and doctor's prescriptions.
- Monitor patients' dietary intake and evaluate the effectiveness of prescribed nutrition therapy.
- Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients and their families.
- Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to ensure integrated patient care.
- Oversee food service operations to ensure safe, hygienic, and nutritionally adequate meal preparation.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, Department of Health (DOH) standards, and other regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct nutrition-related research, audits, and quality improvement initiatives as needed.
- Document nutrition care plans and progress notes in patients' medical records.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Registered Nutritionist-Dietitian (RND) with valid PRC license.
- Preferably with hospital or clinical nutrition experience.
- Knowledge in therapeutic diets, food service management, and nutrition counseling.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
