A. Network Monitoring (Assigned Region/s)
Assure network connectivity at all times (LAN and WAN);
Perform daily status and network health monitoring of link and network equipment for NCR and Luzon sites;
Perform maintenance of network monitoring system such as, but not limited to, WhatsUp Gold and Packeteer PacketShaper;
Determine protocols and nodes that contribute to system slowdown and bottleneck within the network;
Identify potential problems, evaluate them and implement appropriate actions to resolve the problem;
Escalate network problems to the Sr. Network Engineer after all possible solutions at her level have been exhausted;
Escalate to other concerned support groups such as DBA, Systems Administration, Information Security and Applications Development if problem found is not within the Department's control;
Provide initial coordination and follow-ups with service staff of Telco providers regarding reported troubled link during the first 4 hours of outage or first 8 hours of unstable connection; and,
Log daily network status and generates reports and submits to Sr. Network Engineer for reference and documentation.
B. Telco & Network Equipment (Assigned Region/s)
Perform onsite setup of network equipment and link activation (IPVPN/VSAT/Wireless);
Provide support to e-Patrol and other Local Government Unit (LGU) activities;
Occasional site inspection and/or survey for new LTO sites or transferred sites if required;
Dispatch to site if replacement of managed equipment or onsite problem isolation is required;
Implement network equipment configuration and security per region through access-control lists, SSH access, correct login passwords, and AAA configurations; and, 6. Perform backup of network equipment configuration at the District Office (DO) level on a quarterly basis or as the need arises due to configuration changes.
C. Cabling/LAN at the LTO (Assigned Region/s)
Inspect and perform testing of cable installations for LTO's new and transferred sites as may be required by CSG thru its respective ROOs.; and,
Conduct initial isolation of cabling problems at LTO offices and escalates to Field Services Department if problem requires cable re-installation.
D. Other Tasks:
- Assist in isolating IPSec/SSL-VPN related concerns/issues and escalates to the Sr. Network Engineer in-charge unresolved matters.
GENERAL USE:
Assist in isolating wireless access related concerns/issues and escalates to the Sr. Network Engineer in-charge unresolved matters.
Research, evaluate, and conduct demo of new technology or equipment that may contribute to the enhancement of the network system;
Assist in cabling support and maintenance at SMC and LTO-CO;
Assist in the maintenance of the telephone system and provides user support if needed;
Review summary of billing statements and requests for payment for leased lines and telephone lines prepared by Executive Secretary for Systems Operations prior submission to Network Administration Manager for review and approval;
