Your Role:

As a Materials Planner, you will:

• Manage the complete purchase order lifecycle, from creation and issuance to final approval and vendor confirmation.
• Ensure timely delivery and accurate receipt of all materials, reconciling shipments against purchase orders.
• Collaborate with the Inventory Specialist to forecast needs and maintain optimal stock levels, preventing production downtime.
• Coordinate with the logistics department to manage inbound freight and schedule order pickups.
• Generate and analyze monthly purchasing reports to track key performance indicators and inform strategy.
• Execute strategic purchasing by balancing supplier minimums, warehouse capacity, cash flow, and ingredient shelf life.

What You Need:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a purchasing or supply chain role within a manufacturing environment.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the demonstrated ability to learn and operate new ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.
• Proven experience in end-to-end order management, including data entry and meticulous record-keeping.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for coordinating effectively with vendors and internal departments.

Responsible for the planning and inventory control of raw and packaging materials needed for the production of assigned categories, ensuring their availability at manufacturing and source plants.   This function also ensures that safety stock levels are maintained per material, based on inventory policies, thereby securing that production requirements are fully covered and risks of material write-offs are avoided.   This function also coordinates with internal and external cross-functional teams to ultimately ensure sufficient materials supply.

I. JOB SUMMARY

The Materials Planner is responsible for planning and monitoring the materials requirement of the department, both direct and indirect, ensuring accurate inventory, efficient production flow at the least possible cost. S/he is also responsible in managing inventories, collaborating with the purchasing department, placing orders, and liaising with suppliers.

Core Job Responsibilities

Material Resource Planning (MRP)

• Prepares and develops Materials Requirement Plan based on production plan requirements and forecasted demand (weekly, monthly, yearly).
• Reviews requirements movement and materials completion to prevent delays in production flow.
• Plots materials delivery based on agreed requirements per department.

Inventory Control

• Ensures accurate inventory in raw material and internal non-food warehouses.
• Manages inventory flow and ensures materials are delivered on time and in full.
• Creates a schedule for ordering materials to maintain efficient inventory levels.

Data Analysis & Interpretation

• Prepares weekly and monthly reports based on On-Time and In-Full (OTIF) performance.
• Reviews supplier reliability and reports findings to immediate superior when necessary.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Communicates order status to internal customers, highlighting product and production constraints.
• Coordinates with involved departments regarding supply deviations for immediate resolution.

Other Competencies

• Proactive communication with departments on changes, issues, and concerns.
• Collaboration with operations and co-planners to align production plans with material availability.
• Reports potential and existing roadblocks to superiors and monitors implementation of plans.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year in food manufacturing or FMCG, preferably in Production Planning and Inventory Control.

• Specialized Knowledge:

• Advanced Excel, Data Analytics, Warehouse Management.

• Familiar with SAP, MRP, ERP systems.

• Core Competencies:

• Strong understanding of procurement and production systems.

• Experience in web-based and Excel-based planning tools.
• Excellent communication skills.

• College Graduate, BS Industrial Engineering an advantage
• With at least 8 yrs experience in Materials Planning preferable in electronics company
• Knowledgeable with inventory control, inventory limit and material inventory turnover
• Keen to details; with good analytical and critical thinking
• Knowledgeable in conducting material WIP counting and can generate report
• Excellent Communication Skills (Written & Verbal)
• Advance Knowledge in MS Office
• Good People Handling Skills
