We are seeking a motivated and dedicated
Apprentice Engineer
to join our team for a one-year structured training program in a dynamic manufacturing and process development environment. This role offers hands-on exposure to various engineering functions, including process optimization, product development, equipment troubleshooting, and quality improvement initiatives. The Apprentice Engineer will work closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to gain practical skills in production processes, data analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies. Throughout the program, the apprentice will be involved in New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, participate in technical problem-solving, and contribute to process enhancement activities to meet production targets and quality standards.

WHAT WE NEED:

• Bachelor's degree graduate in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics Communication, and Mechatronics Engineering
• At least 1 year of work experience in a manufacturing set-up, but this is also open to fresh graduates

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing Engineering Teams are process leaders for stamping, molding, and assembly, ensuring optimal quality and output. They are experts in tooling, machining, and assembly techniques, driving optimization and standardization of manufacturing processes. These teams enable TE plants to meet TEOA requirements, deploy COEs and BDPs, and advise on tool/machine improvements. They design and develop manufacturing processes and automation for new products and existing product optimization. They also support Product Development in selecting optimal tools and manufacturing concepts (considering quantity, quality, and location), act as the interface between engineering and production for manufacturability, and support R&D teams in producing samples and prototypes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Responsible for Die Design and Development, and Processes to support new product development
2. Provide technical advice to product design through stamping engineering evaluation. Conduct evaluations for DFM
3. Work with the process development engineer to complete new tooling conditioning and mass production
4. Prepare the WI and PFMEA for new products, and discuss with QE (Quality Engineers) and Production to fix the WI and PFMEA
5. Update the WI and PFMEA according to the request of customer audit or quality improvement, or EC, etc.
6. WI training is in operation in order to standardize the machine operation or process
7. Responsible for manufacturing process improvement, production efficiency, and quality improvement
8. Modify the tooling according to the request of the customer or quality improvement or EC, or efficiency improvement, etc
9. Complete and publish the revised tooling drawing in order to meet EC and the improvement request
10. Cooperate with QE and Production to revise related documents (WI & PFMEA, etc.) for customer audit
11. Cooperate with QE and Production to find the root cause and correct action for customer complaints in order to satisfy the customer
12. Study or introduce new technologies into process designs to improve yield and efficiency
13. Design, EC, and fabrication of single and progressive dies
14. Repair and maintenance of dies
15. Trial, adjustment, and evaluation of dies
16. Operate the machine and press machines
17. DFM, EC, Quality meeting with customers
18. Design and fabrication of jigs
19. Process improvement
20. Checking of new part documents
21. Supervise operators, designers, technicians, and engineers
22. Use AutoCAD and SolidWorks/Creo
23. Prepare/check die quotation

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's in mechanical engineering or related courses
2. With 5 years' engineering design-related work experience
3. Be familiar with design tools such as Creo, AutoCAD, and Progressive dies
4. Know five quality tools like FMEA, SPC, APQP

• Performs die assembly, disassembly, adjustment, repair, and maintenance
• Operates surface grinding machines and conducts tooling inspections and quality control

• Supports RCA/CA activities by providing accurate information and performing confirmation tasks
