Status of Employment: Permanent
Job Summary: Responsible for the overall management and monitoring of legal information and compliance aspects for the corporation. Represents the organization in litigation, administrative conferences, and other proceedings of a similar nature.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Overall management of legal-related compliances for the organization, including all government-mandated issuances and promulgations.
- Represent the organization in cases including, but not limited to, civil, criminal, and labor cases. Representation covers entry of appearance, submission of pleadings, court hearings, until the cases are decided by the appropriate authority.
- Represent the organization in Government agencies, including but not limited to regulatory bodies and local government units. Representation covers entry of appearance, submission of pleadings, court hearings, until the cases are decided by the appropriate authority.
- Negotiation, drafting, and review of contracts the organization enters into, including third-party business partners, suppliers, vendors, agencies, and the like.
- Provide legal advice to corporate inquiries and other activities which may need review and assistance.
- Tracking and monitoring various anticipated and ongoing litigation matters.
- Represent the organization in engagements and activities requiring legal expertise and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of Bachelor of Laws, Juris Doctor, Bar Passer, or equivalent.
- Preferably has prior experience in a role with similar responsibilities and qualifications specializing in Law/Legal services.
- At least 5 years of legal experience practicing law, preferably with knowledge in legislation and regulation of corporations.
- Strong organizational, research, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications.

Handle hearing schedules and liaising regularly with various courts as to the filings and requirements needed for the court filing of the ALI Group.
Research regulations, laws, and jurisprudence to assist the lawyer with the preparation of pleadings, legal opinions and other documents as may be assigned
Gather, examine and organize pieces of evidence and legal documents for the lawyer’s review and case preparation
Manage, organize, and maintain documents in proper filing systems
File and serve pleadings an and other documents to various court levels and other government agencies
Draft and proofread correspondence and other legal documents

Schedule meetings of lawyers (internally and with business units)
Handle administrative tasks for lawyers
Coordinate with various clients of the lawyers
Perform a variety of tasks to support lawyers

Provide guidelines to business units in registering a mark, registrability of marks according to Trademark Rules

Request for engagement proposals from external firms based on the IP lawyer’s instructions and IP issue
Coordinate and set up meetings with external firms
Coordinate with external firms’ finance and SBU’s finance team to settle outstanding balance; Ensure that billings are settled
Gather published marketing materials
Preferably a degree holder in Legal Management and/or other related courses
Must have at least 3 to 5 years of work experience in a law firm
Must have a background in assisting a litigation lawyer, particularly in preparing court pleadings
Must have a background in the transactions with the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines
With good verbal and written communication skills
Has the ability to effectively multitask and handle different deliverables
Must be willing to be trained and to perform any other tasks required by the lawyers
