Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Law Clerk with a strong interest in employment law to support our legal team. The successful candidate will assist with legal research, document preparation and client communication in matters involving workplace rights, employment disputes, and compliance with relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research on employment law matters, including Fair Work Act, modern awards, enterprise agreements, workplace investigations, and unfair dismissal claims
- Draft legal documents including employment contracts, letters of advice
- Support the HR Services team with client preparation, including bundle preparation and document management
- Monitor legislative changes and regulatory updates relevant to employment law
Skills & Qualifications:
- Currently completing or recently completed a law degree (LLB or JD)
Previous experience in employment law (e.g., internship, clerkship, or paralegal work) including experience in the following areas:
Labour Standards and Social Legislation
- Administrative and Regulatory Law
- Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) / Labour Arbitration
- Contract Law
- Occupational Health and Safety
- Collective Bargaining and Industrial Relations
Desirable Attributes:
- Interest in advocacy, workplace relations, or human rights law
- Familiarity with Fair Work Commission procedures
- Team player with a proactive and professional attitude
