About the Opportunity.
As an Intermediate Software Engineer, you will play a key role in expanding ELMO's global reach. Your initial priority will be to support our Payroll integration efforts, ensuring seamless data flow and functionality. Beyond this, you'll contribute to broader localization work, adapting our solutions for diverse international markets.

- Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions

About the Role
The Intermediate Accountant will play a pivotal role in managing payroll processes, performing reconciliations, resolving financial discrepancies, and supporting general accounting tasks. - Update payroll systems with new staff information, ensuring all records are current and correct.

- Reconcile creditor statements for end-of-month (EOM) payments, verifying all amounts due and facilitating timely payments.

- Liaise with managers and clients where required, ensuring all deliverables are completed within deadlines.
- Maintain strong attention to detail to minimize review points.
- Contribute to process improvement and efficiency within the accounting team.
Qualifications / Skills:
- Minimum 2+ years of Australian accounting experience.
- Proven ability to prepare compliance work (Financial Statements, Income Tax Returns, BAS, IAS) to review stage.
- Solid understanding of Div7A, FBT, and CGT.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to prepare clear and professional correspondence.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Experience with FYI, MYOB, and Ignition will be highly regarded but not essential.

THE OPPORTUNITY
Our client is a well-established leader in the insurance and financial services industry, with over 110 years of experience. As specialists in workers' compensation claims and injury management, they handle personal injury and workers' compensation insurance claims for thousands of Australian businesses, supporting individuals in their recovery and helping organisation navigate risk and claims processes.
Our team is expanding and looking for an Intermediate Accountant. This role is essential in overseeing and ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of all required financial reporting activities.
This role requires onsite work during the first of 3 months, then shifts to a hybrid setup (twice a week to be on-site), following Australian business hours 6:00AM - 3:00PM Manila.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for moderately to highly complex entities.
- Conduct detailed reconciliations of balance sheets, bank accounts, and intercompany transactions to maintain financial accuracy.
- Manage fixed asset accounting, including acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation schedules.
- Ensure proper accrual accounting and review of invoices to align expenses and revenues with the correct periods.
- Support audit requirements by preparing financial statements, maintaining audit documentation, and liaising with external auditors.
- Handle accounts payable functions, including vendor record maintenance and resolving invoice discrepancies with business units.
- Collaborate with internal finance teams, including the Sydney office, to ensure efficient and accurate reporting processes.
- Drive continuous improvement by updating procedures, resolving reporting issues, and participating in team projects and initiatives.
Skills, Experience & Qualification
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in General ledger accounting, financial reporting and accounts payable processing, preferably with exposure in Insurance industry or in a BPO/Shared service environment or with audit background.
- Has 2 years' experience in preparation of Annual Financial Statement with disclosures and variance analysis.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS) and financial controls.
- Experience with ERP System; Workday is preferred.
- Familiarity with fixed asset management and accrual accounting.
- Experience in process and project management.
- Experience with external audit and liaising with auditors.
