The Import Operations Officer oversees the company's international logistics, van planning, importations, Bureau of Customs and DTI -BPS application up to delivery to the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensures the company import permit is always updated.
- Communicate directly with BSCAP on van planning, nomination of forwarders, and sailing schedules.
- Ensures all required documents for the release of the shipments are complete and available on time.
- Properly plan, coordinate and execute the processing of all imports and deliveries to the warehouse to avoid or minimize incremental charges like storage, demurrage, truckers' charges, and overtime.
- Closely monitor DTI - BPS ICC applications, from sampling and tire testing to test results up to the issuance of certificates, exemptions, and stickers.
- Responsible in communicating new directives from Bureau of Customs, Department of Trade and Industry, Bureau of Product Standards and other government agencies that has direct effect to the companies import operations.
- Keep and maintain import documentation until the time of disposal.
- Prepare and submit reports related to import operations.
- Accurate processing of brokers' billing in terms of rates, both contracted and receipted and the immediate transmittal to finance.
- Other tasks that may be delegated by the immediate head.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, Logistics and Transportation, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3 years experience in import / export operations, customs regulations, freight forwarding.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft office, ERP, SAP, and other Supply Chain tools.

Primary Purpose of the Role
The Import Operations Co-Ordinator will handle freight movement for international ocean import (and export) shipments in order to exceed customer service expectations while maintaining compliance with all government and industry standards.
Key Accountabilities
- Arranging collection and deliveries of freight for international ocean import (and export) moves.
- Tracking operational, routing, and customer service responsibility for all files handled.
- Using preferred list of truckers and vendors to identify customer solutions based on rates and service.
- Acting liaison between shippers, consignees, and ocean carriers.
- Completing all necessary import (and export) documentation in order to remain compliant with regulations.
- Determining and recommending shipment costs and routing options to the customer for their selection.
- Completing quotes with oversight for customers, sales personnel, and overseas stations/agents.

- 3+ years of experience in Ocean import operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Experience using CargoWise One is required.
