The main responsibilities of an ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH, AND SAFETY SUPERVISOR include:

  • Oversee and manage overall general safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures to be followed in compliance with corporate and sector policies and local and country-specific Environmental Protection Agency and Occupational Safety and Health Governmental rules and regulations
  • Work with various businesses and partners to create value through the development of innovative solutions to environmental, social, and governance challenges

  • Coordinate with safety officers and clients to communicate necessary notices to the MGB Regional Director.
  • Ensure compliance with reporting requirements for all field operations in the Philippines.
  • Guide the HSEQ Team, ensuring consistent reporting standards.
  • Lead the implementation of an electronic database for HSEQ requirements.
  • Assist in incident/accident investigations and reporting.
  • Oversee field audits and track action item completion.
  • Collaborate with Contract Managers/Drill Supervisors to develop risk-reducing strategies.
  • Manage new employee inductions and ongoing safety training.
  • Develop and implement workplace health and safety plans.
  • Ensure the HSEQ Team tracks and updates daily project site KPIs.
  • Evaluate practices and procedures for legal and safety compliance.
  • Track required field-based training for all personnel.
  • Hold regular review meetings with the PNG management team to ensure action completion.
  • Facilitate Job Safety/Task Hazard Analysis for new or changing tasks.
  • Monitor compliance with Standard Task and Safe Work Procedures.
  • Develop a new reporting package to track safety returns using MyOsh tools.
  • Assist the Contract Manager with HSEQ requirements and client communication.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a related field, preferably a BS in Engineering, Occupational Health, or similar.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as an HSEQ Officer (preferably in the Mining or Drilling Industry).
  • Knowledge of government-mandated SHE compliance and regulations.
  • Trained/Experience in safety standards (particularly ISO 9001, 14001,
  • DOSH Practitioner (DOLE Certificate of Accreditation).
  • Possess a valid Driver's License.
  • Licensed Mining Engineer
  • Experience working with, developing, and leading multicultural teams.
  • Strong evaluative and analytical skills.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • High degree of safety awareness.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on meeting goals.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to operate autonomously.
  • Ability to work with diverse cultures.
