Position Overview

We are looking for a hands-on and proactive
Financial Controller/Finance Manager
to lead and own our internal finance and accounting operations. This role will primarily focus on
bookkeeping, reporting, financial controls, cash flow management, and tax compliance

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Finance (Core)

  • Oversee daily accounting operations including AP, AR, general ledger, and reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely month-end and year-end closing.
  • Prepare and analyze the
    three core financial statements
    : Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement.
  • Establish, monitor, and continuously improve
    financial control systems
    to ensure accuracy, compliance, and risk management.
  • Manage vendor invoicing, collections, payroll, and cash flow monitoring.
  • Develop and maintain a rolling
    13-week cash flow report
    to support liquidity management.
  • Build and maintain
    financial models

  • Experience supporting

  • Exposure to

Tax & Compliance

  • Prepare and file
    U.S. corporate tax returns
    and ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations.
  • (Optional) Manage Singapore tax filings (corporate income tax, GST) with external advisors.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and external advisors when necessary.

HR & Administrative Support

  • Maintain proper
    filing systems
    for contracts, invoices, and corporate records.
  • Assist in preparing and sending out
    contract templates
    and related documents.
  • Support basic
    HR functions
    , such as maintaining employee records and coordinating payroll/benefits with external providers.

Process Improvement & Leadership

  • Proactively design and implement internal control systems to strengthen financial discipline.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certification (CPA preferred; ACCA/CA a plus).
  • 5+ years of experience in a Big 4 Accounting firm
    , ideally in a managerial or senior role.
  • Strong knowledge of
    U.S. GAAP
    ; IFRS knowledge or willingness to learn is an advantage.
  • Practical experience with
    U.S. tax law
    (Singapore tax experience is a plus).

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

  • We seek a Controller based in our Manila office, tasked with overseeing our financial function based in Manila, with a focus on transactional accounting along with broader support for financial operations. This role is critical for supporting our operations in Australia, particularly during month-end close and reporting cycles.

  • This role is responsible for leading accounts payable and accounts receivable operations across the Perfection Fresh Group, while also supporting the wider finance team as required. This role ensures the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of financial transactions, while driving process improvement and system optimisation. The role will lead a team of two direct reports and six indirect reports and will work closely with internal stakeholders to support operational excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Leadership and Operational Oversight:

  • Lead and manage the offshore transactional finance team, including AP and AR functions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, receipts, payments, and reconciliations.
  • Monitor team performance and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Support the wider finance team during month-end close and with reporting, analysis, audit preparation and reconciliations as required.
  • Oversee bank reconciliations and cash application processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Lead onboarding and training for new team members to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Actively contribute as a member of the senior finance leadership team, supporting strategic initiatives and cross-functional collaboration.

Process Improvement and Systems:

  • Identify and implement improvements to transactional processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support system upgrades and integration projects, particularly within Dynamics and IronBark
  • Collaborate with IT and finance teams to optimise workflows and reporting capabilities.

Compliance and Controls:

  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and relevant financial regulations.
  • Ensure relevant balance sheet reconciliations are prepared, reviewed, and updated at least monthly, maintaining financial discipline and integrity.
  • Ensure appropriate segregation of duties and fraud prevention controls.
  • Manage vendor and customer master data integrity in collaboration with IT and procurement
  • Support audit processes and provide documentation as required.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure data integrity across all transactional systems.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Provide regular reporting on AP and AR performance, aged receivables/payables, and exceptions.
  • Support the Group Financial Controller with insights into transactional trends and risks.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with farm managers, commercial teams, and operations to resolve transactional issues, improve processes and support financial performance.
  • Liaise with the Financial Controller to align Manila team outputs with broader finance objectives.
  • Support external relationships with suppliers and customers as required.

essential requirements

  • Relevant qualifications in finance, accounting, HR, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in the transactional finance function with strong understanding of AP/AR processes and controls
  • Experience in FMCG, agriculture and/or large complex businesses
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Proven leadership and team development capability.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Controller to oversee financial operations, reporting, and compliance. This role is remote (Philippines-based) and will support the USA leadership team with accurate reporting, compliance, and financial planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee accounting operations, reconciliations, and reporting under US GAAP.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Manage payroll, AR/AP, and cash flow.
  • Ensure compliance with US tax and audit requirements.
  • Maintain internal controls and liaise with external auditors.
  • Provide financial insights, forecasts, and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with operations, HR, and other teams for financial accuracy.
  • Mentor accounting staff and drive process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
  • 5+ years in accounting/finance with 2+ years in a Controller role and experience in the real estate industry.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accounting principles related to real estate property management.
  • Experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar. AppFolio property management software experience would be ideal.
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets and financial modeling skills.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and align with US time zones.
