Purpose of the role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Engineering Specialist to manage the maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency of our warehouse and distribution facilities. This role includes oversight of critical infrastructure such as HVAC systems, backup generators, and material handling equipment to ensure seamless logistics operations and regulatory compliance.
What you'll be doing
Facility Maintenance & Operations
- Maintain and troubleshoot building systems including HVAC (air conditioning and ventilation), electrical, plumbing, and lighting.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of standby generators and ensure readiness for power outages.
- Implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for warehouse equipment and infrastructure.
- Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for repairs, inspections, and upgrades.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local and national safety, fire, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular facility inspections and risk assessments.
- Maintain documentation for audits and regulatory compliance.
Project Management
- Lead facility improvement projects including layout optimization, energy efficiency upgrades, and equipment installations.
- Prepare project budgets, timelines, and progress reports.
Operational Support
- Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to support operational efficiency and space utilization.
- Support the installation and maintenance of warehouse automation and material handling systems.
HVAC & Generator Systems
- Monitor and maintain air conditioning systems to ensure optimal climate control and energy efficiency.
- Schedule and supervise regular servicing of generators, including fuel management, load testing, and emergency drills.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cooling systems and backup power.
Sustainability & Energy Management
- Track utility usage and implement energy-saving initiatives.
- Recommend and implement sustainable practices in facility operations.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- Safety Officer 2 Certified
- Minimum 3 years of experience in facilities engineering, preferably in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, generator operations, and building maintenance.

The Engineering Specialist will handle and assist in preparing Tender Documents for Renewable Projects and other non-renewable projects involving Engineering, Design, and Construction that JECI will implement.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1) Prepare Technical Specifications and Design Drawings about the Electrical aspects of the project for implementation by JECI.
2) Assist the Head of Engineering in answering all queries from the Bidders about the Tender Documents issued for Tendering.
3) Evaluate bid proposals from various bidders for any Engineering Projects implemented by JECI.
4) Acts as a multi-disciplinary team of engineers (cost engineer, Electrical Engineer, etc.) to ensure engineering and construction activities are performed on time, on budget, and quality.
5) Monitors construction activities and generates periodic reports.
6) Review engineering design drawings, technical specifications, computations, systems description, and Vendor Instruction, Operation, and Maintenance manuals.
7) Conduct special technical studies.
8) Reviews Quality Assurance and Safety programs and submits findings and recommendations.
9) Provide engineering support to the project manager and site personnel for all Electrical aspects of the project.
10) Oversee the design of all Electrical aspects of all temporary and permanent project facilities.
11) Validate the Project Engineer's outputs before the Engineering Head's review and approval.
11) Provide technical assistance and support to the Head of Engineering.
12) Act as a member of a Technical Working Group in evaluating Bid Proposals for a particular project

Education- A graduate with a bachelor's degree in Engineering. Preferably Electrical.
Experience- The Engineer must have at least five (5) years of work experience and at least two (2) years work experience in Power generation or related industry.
License- Must be a Licensed Electrical Engineer (REE)
