Job Summary
The Store Cashier is the primary point of contact for customers at the end of their experience. This role is responsible for accurately and efficiently processing all sales transactions. The cashier also plays a crucial role in providing excellent customer service, answering questions, and ensuring the checkout area remains clean and well-stocked.
Key Responsibilities
1. Customer Service
- Greet customers warmly and provide a positive and friendly checkout experience.
- Address and resolve customer inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Assist customers with locating products or information in the store when needed.
- Maintain a professional and helpful demeanor at all times.
2. Sales and Cash Handling
- Accurately scan and process all sales transactions, including cash, credit/debit cards, and other forms of payment.
- Count and reconcile the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Handle returns, exchanges, and voids according to company policy.
- Ensure all transactions are processed securely and correctly.
3. Store Operations
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the cash register area.
- Assist in stocking and arranging products in the front of the store.
- Inform customers about special promotions, loyalty programs, or upcoming events.
- Report any operational issues or security concerns to the store manager.
Qualifications
- Education: College Level or equivalent.
- Experience: Previous experience as a cashier, sales associate, or in a customer-facing role is an advantage.
