Responsibilities

- Potentially handle phone duties and client communication as needed

Requirements
- Mid-level experience as a paralegal (not entry-level position)
- Specific experience in corporate or business law (litigation and real estate experience not applicable)
- Strong familiarity with business contracts and legal document management

Mission
Reporting to the Country Director and Legal Director in charge of Colas Rail's International Division (based in Paris), you will advise the project team working on 2 major railway projects in the Philippines, the Metro Manila Subway Project and the North-South Corridor Railway Project.
Main Responsibilities
Corporate Law: Management of local subsidiary and coordinating with the corporate team based in France including managing filing requirements, beneficial owner declarations, directors and shareholders resolutions etc.

Projects
Analysis of legal documentation with the client on major railway project to manage the main legal risks and opportunities,
Analyzing and reviewing if necessary, and negotiating, in relation with contract, commercial, technical and financial teams, the documentation (initial and amendments) relating to execution of projects,
Providing legal advice to operation teams during the execution of the works contracts in conjunction with the Contract Manager in charge of the project, as well as reviewing or drafting the legal aspects of any claims, and
Review or drafting and negotiation of documents to be concluded with suppliers and subcontractors (both local or international, especially Japanese suppliers).
Regional Work: Depending on your previous experience and competence, you may be involved in major railway project bids in Asia Pacific (Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia), which will include analysing and review of client documents, advising on the public procurement process, drafting and negotiating contracts to be concluded with partners and/or major subcontractors.
Profile
Rigorous, autonomous, open-minded, good interpersonal and writing skills, and the ability to listen are the qualities needed to join a team working on international projects.
You have a higher legal education (degree in law), qualified to practice law in the Philippines and have between 3 and 6 years of experience in a rigorous legal environment. Any qualifications to practice law in other jurisdictions will be an advantage.
