· Contributes to the growth and profitability of the company through the effective sourcing and purchasing of indirect materials in accordance with prescribed purchasing policies and procedures. The Buyer will be responsible for canvassing and gathering quotations and preparing Purchase Orders for local and foreign purchases.

Specific duties

• Checks with the user the exact specifications of materials and supplies as specified in the Purchase Requisition.
• Canvasses prices from reliable suppliers, requests quotations for price comparisons, and prepares a comparative abstract of offer for proper selection by the Purchasing Officer/Manager.
• Prepares Purchase Orders, follows up the processing of such, and advises the winning suppliers of items ordered.
• Follows up deliveries of orders from the suppliers and Good Receiving Note (GRN) from the end users.
• Verifies with the requisitioners receipts of deliveries and constantly coordinates with all concerned until the delivery receipt is confirmed.

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

MERCHANDISE ASSORTMENT

• Buys proper merchandise at the right price, quantity, and terms.

• Manages and analyzes stock levels and order points.

• Monitors and analyzes merchandise and supplier performance in all stores and recommend items/supplies for deletion.

• Sources and develops new local and international suppliers (outright and concessionaire) to ensure category merchandise assortment is updated with local and international trends.

INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
