Role Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Content Assistant to join our e-commerce marketing team. This entry-level role is ideal for someone passionate about content creation, SEO, and digital marketing. You will play a key role in creating, editing, and optimising content across multiple formats — including product descriptions, service pages, blogs, funnel-based content, and press releases.
This role reports directly to the SEO Manager, and collaborates with SEM Manager, Digital Marketing Manager, Customer Support Lead, and Product Manager, ensuring a collaborative approach to delivering high-quality, customer-focused, and search-optimised content.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation & Optimisation
- Write, edit, and optimise product and service content to improve visibility, engagement, and conversions.
- Assist in creating blog articles, funnel content (awareness, consideration, conversion), press releases, and customer communications.
- Support the development of content calendars in alignment with marketing and product campaigns.
- Ensure all content meets brand, tone, compliance, and SEO standards.
SEO & Digital Marketing Support
- Conduct basic keyword research and implement SEO best practices into content.
- Assist in metadata creation (titles, descriptions, alt text) for blogs, products, and landing pages.
- Collaborate with the SEO and SEM teams to optimise for organic and paid search performance.
Content Funnel Management
- Help develop and track content across awareness, consideration, and conversion stages.
- Assist in repurposing content for multiple platforms (blogs, social, email, press).
- Provide support in reporting performance insights and identifying improvement opportunities.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Support
- Work under the direction of SEO, SEM, Digital Marketing, Customer Support, and Product Managers.
- Coordinate with customer support to develop content that addresses FAQs, troubleshooting, and customer experience gaps.
- Collaborate with product management on launches, updates, and product-driven content needs.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of SEO principles and digital marketing.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Shopify, or similar).
