Position Summary / Purpose and Objectives
We are looking for a Cloud Azure/AWS Architect to support the growing scope of infrastructure services in the region, with a focus on implementing new and improving existing cloud environments.
As part of the Technical Services and IT Security Shared Services team, the Cloud Architect will represent the department in collaboration with business units and project teams. This role plays a key part in the architecture, support, maintenance, implementation, administration, and lifecycle management of Azure and AWS environments.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and reviewing cloud architecture for stability and adaptability, providing escalation support during incidents, and contributing to the deployment and qualification of new solutions. This includes both day-to-day operational support and project-based work related to cloud infrastructure services.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Create architecture and design documentation for existing and new cloud infrastructure.
- Provide technical solutions for new projects and infrastructure improvements.
- Maintain operational conditions for both new and existing Azure/AWS environments in line with internal support processes.
- Build, deploy, and manage Azure environments in compliance with defined standards.
- Provide strong operational support for:
- Troubleshooting, incident, and problem management
- Reporting and communication on cloud platform performance
- Documentation and procedures for support
- Assist with Azure component implementation.
- Ensure platform stability, performance, and lifecycle management.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Provide support for operating systems (Windows and/or Linux).
- Assist in the evaluation and qualification of new infrastructure solutions.
- Offer technical recommendations to senior technical teams.
Primary Technical Requirements:
- Azure Administrator or Azure Solutions Architect certification (preferred).
- Strong experience in Azure environment administration and troubleshooting.
- Ability to build Azure environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Experience with server migrations from on-premises to Azure.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools (e.g., Terraform, CI/CD, Visual Studio).
- Experience building secure and reliable Azure infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux server operating systems.
Secondary Technical Skills:
- Scripting skills (Terraform, CLI, Python preferred).
- General knowledge of infrastructure solutions (servers, storage, networking).
- Familiarity with ITIL framework.
- Experience with other cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, etc.
- Knowledge of DevOps principles and tools is a plus.
Behavioral Competencies:
- 3–7 years of infrastructure experience, with at least 1–3 years as an Azure administrator.
- Self-motivated and eager to grow in the IT profession.
- Strong team player with ability to collaborate across departments.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

About the Role:
We are looking for a highly skilled Cloud Architect who will be responsible for defining and implementing the "to-be" architecture and peripheral services for the cloud foundation or landing zone. This role focuses on designing, building, and operationalizing a scalable, secure, and well-governed cloud environment, ensuring alignment with both business and technical requirements.
The Cloud Architect will collaborate closely with cloud platform teams, application teams, and security & compliance units to ensure smooth integration, governance, and adherence to best practices.
This role offers the opportunity to design and shape the foundational architecture of a major bank's private cloud ecosystem. The Cloud Architect will be a key enabler in the bank's cloud adoption journey, ensuring security, governance, scalability, and operational excellence in a highly dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and implement the target ("to-be") cloud architecture aligned with business and technical requirements.
- Design and build the cloud foundation/landing zone with modular, scalable, and secure structures.
- Develop architecture blueprints and documentation for landing zone components (e.g., subscriptions, accounts, shared services, governance policies, guardrails, and hybrid connectivity).
- Implement peripheral services including logging/monitoring, disaster recovery, certificate & key management, and cost tracking.
- Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools to automate deployment of landing zone infrastructure.
- Establish operational processes for monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate on cloud migration strategy and roadmap, ensuring new workloads align with architecture standards.
- Ensure high availability, cost optimization, and performance efficiency of the cloud environment.
- Define and enforce security, IAM, governance, and compliance guardrails.
- Plan and implement business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.
Qualifications:
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in cloud architecture, design, and implementation.
- Strong knowledge of AWS and/or Azure platforms.
- Expertise in networking, virtualization, security, and hybrid connectivity.
- Hands-on experience with IaC tools, orchestration, and automation frameworks.
- Strong understanding of cost management, governance, and disaster recovery practices in the cloud.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Strategic thinker with problem-solving and project management abilities.
- Amenable to hybrid work setup in Taguig and willing to work on shifting schedules.
- Relevant certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Azure Professional, etc.
- Experience in application development and deployment in cloud environments.
