The Licensed Medical Technologist – QA and Training is responsible for ensuring laboratory quality assurance and compliance with regulatory standards while developing and implementing training programs for laboratory personnel. This role supports continuous improvement in testing accuracy, reliability, and safety, ensuring that all laboratory processes meet internal and external quality benchmarks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop, implement, and monitor laboratory quality assurance programs in compliance with DOH, and other relevant standards.
• Conduct training for new and existing laboratory staff on procedures, equipment use, and quality standards. Assess staff competencies regularly and provide refresher courses to maintain technical proficiency.
• Collaborate with management to identify training needs and career development opportunities for laboratory staff.
• Ensure laboratory operations adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes and implement necessary updates in laboratory practices. Maintain records and prepare reports for accreditation and inspections.
• Conduct regular internal audits, proficiency testing, and performance evaluations of laboratory procedures.
• Review, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring proper documentation control. Investigate non-conformities, incidents, and complaints, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor equipment calibration, validation, and maintenance schedules to ensure accurate and reliable test results.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A licensed Medical Technologist with a degree in Medical Technology and 2 to 3 years of professional experience.
• Knowledge of laboratory accreditation standards (DOH, ISO 15189, CAP, CLIA, etc.).
• Completion of relevant trainings is an advantage, such as: Internal accreditation standards, Clinical Laboratory technical proficiency, Basic Life Support (BLS), Safety Skills Essentials (SSE) and Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Control Measures (HIRA).
• Amenable to work in Malolos Bulacan.

You will be responsible for conducting a variety of clinical laboratory tests and procedures while ensuring accuracy, precision, and compliance with established quality standards. Your technical expertise and attention to detail will directly contribute to our mission of advancing healthcare through reliable and timely diagnostic services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform a broad range of laboratory tests across various disciplines, including hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and immunology.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment. Follow standard operating procedures, including quality control and assurance protocols.
• Analyze and interpret test results, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to healthcare providers.
• Work collaboratively with clinicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure proper specimen handling and processing
• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of laboratory activities and test results.
• Comply with all laboratory safety, regulatory, and infection control guidelines
• Stay updated on industry advancements, laboratory technologies, and continuing education to maintain licensure and certifications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A graduate in Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field, with valid licensure as a Medical Technologist (MT)
• With at least 6 months to 1 year experience as a medical laboratory scientist.
• Certification as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) and/or ASCP (or equivalent) is an advantage.
• Knowledgeable in in-depth knowledge of laboratory testing methodologies, instrumentation, and procedures.
• Amenable to work in one of the hospital located in Lucena City.

* Performs routine and stat procedures of the available tests/assay on the assigned section of the laboratory.

* Helps maintain quality control of the reagents and equipment within the section guided by the company's Quality Control Assurance Program

* Helps maintain and update inventory control of all laboratory equipment, on use supplies and reagents in the assigned section

* Supervises the assigned personnel on proper handling and disposal of biohazard waste material coming from the assigned section

* Access on the use of LIS on the following: scope of all laboratory tests and other data relative to all tests, Worksheets, Quality Controls, Result Entries, Releasing & Printing of Results

* Use of Bio-Elab chemistry hematology and coagulation machines

* Monitoring of records to ensure compliance with the system

* Performs preventive maintenance of the equipment with proper documentation and maintain orderliness and safety on the assigned working area by following the guidelines under the Standard Operating Procedure manual

* Perform other duties that may be assigned by higher authority
