Job Title: Business Manager
Objective of the function:
The Business Manager will provide strategic and execution support to the Super Circle Leads and the Head of WBP on projects and initiatives aligned with Business Priorities (see illustration below).
Job Level Description:
The Business Manager will lead strategy development and implementation of initiatives across business lines, working closely with the Head of WBP and the Super Circle Leads.
The Business Manager is expected to:
- Develop, implement, monitor, and act as a liaison across business units to ensure effective and efficient operations.
- Build effective partnerships with internal and external business units to support the company's growth, service excellence, and strategic objectives.
- Pilot initiatives in various business units and scale successful implementations across IBSS Manila, collaborating closely with each business line’s Leadership Team. Some initiatives include:
- Client segmentation
- Digital transformation (e.g., client apps)
- Financial drivers analysis, especially for allocated costs such as Infra Recharge and NL Tech
- Budget reforecasting, DP review, and monitoring across WB domains (Data Management, Technology, Regulatory Operations, Products)
- Governance and migration frameworks with minimal FTE impact
- Efficiency analysis and monitoring of the Book of Work
- Functional footprint analysis
- Team performance analysis via scorecard
Main Tasks / Responsibilities:
Strategy and Policy:
- Contribute to strategy and policy development, documentation, and implementation.
- Support the delivery of the Medium-Term Plan (MTP), coordinate its execution, and follow-up actions. Prepare management reports and control information.
- Identify opportunities, analyze problems, and suggest improvements to internal processes.
Project Management:
- Advise and support the Country Manager and Management Committee in project implementation.
- Prepare, socialize, and monitor project plans.
- Establish evaluation strategies and success metrics for initiatives.
- Facilitate planning sessions with IBSS Manila leaders.
Operations and Processes:
- Coordinate with local, regional, and global teams to enhance efficiencies and client experience.
- Act as a linking pin with other ING business units and initiate actions.
- Provide operational management and control reports.
- Identify synergies across domains for strategic solutions, including organizational design, role migrations, and financials.
- Monitor financials and process migrations, collaborating with Finance and Shared Operations as needed.
Communication, Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the point of contact for communications with stakeholders regarding specific initiatives.
- Represent IBSS Manila in global and stakeholder meetings.
- Enhance communication within and between business units and maintain a broad organizational network.

+ Demonstrate strong attention to detail in preparing reports, ensuring the integrity and reliability of data.
+ Work closely with Sales Officers, Group Administration, Claims, and Products teams to help align and provide monitoring tools for efficiency measures.
+ Assist the MIS Team Lead to facilitate approval processes, compute projections, and gather data to in generating various promotional/incentive results.
+ Prepares and releases periodic updates for contests, promotions, and conferences, ensuring results align with the mechanics, including post-contest requirements.
+ Together with MIS Team Lead, will work with Pricing Team on projects to develop and implement processes that improve efficiency.
+ Will handle Franchising of accounts as an alternate for Franchising officer.
+ Generate ad hoc reports as necessary to support various business needs and decision-making processes.
**Required Qualifications:**
+ BS Mathematics or Applied Math
+ With previous experience in information management and reporting
+ With two years or more relevant experience in data analytics, preferably in a life insurance or HMO setting.
+ Has held similar positions relevant to the requirement of the job
+ Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, BI tools and PPT).
