What you will be doing
As an Azure Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and reliable infrastructure solutions in Azure. You will support hybrid environments, modernise legacy platforms, and contribute to the automation of infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, and recovery. In addition, you will provide expert support across Microsoft 365 and Power Platform services, assisting the IT helpdesk with escalations and platform administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement Azure infrastructure using best practices and the Microsoft Well-Architected Framework
Support hybrid environments including on-premises networking, VPNs, ExpressRoute, firewalls, and Azure networking
Implement and manage infrastructure as code using Bicep or Terraform
Monitor and optimise cost, performance, and availability across cloud services
Lead backup strategies, resilience planning, and failover testing
Collaborate with security and application teams to maintain compliance and governance
Maintain Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other core infrastructure services
Administer Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and licensing
Support Power Platform governance and user access, particularly around Power Apps and Power Automate
Provide escalation support to the IT helpdesk for infrastructure, Microsoft 365, and platform-related issues

What we are looking for
We are seeking somebody with a strong infrastructure background who enjoys working across both traditional IT and modern cloud platforms. Having a solid understanding of Azure services and architecture is essential. You will be somebody who takes a proactive, service-focused approach and is confident supporting a wide range of technologies that underpin daily IT operations. You enjoy building reliable systems and improving end-user experience through automation and best practices.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Minimum 2 years recent experience in a similar role
Solid understanding of Azure services, networking, resource governance, and hybrid connectivity
Strong experience with Azure networking (VNETs, NSGs, firewalls, VPNs, ExpressRoute)
Working knowledge of infrastructure as code (Bicep or Terraform)
Experience administering Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, licensing)
Exposure to Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate), including access and support models
Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools such as Azure Monitor or Log Analytics
Experience managing Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
