We are looking for Assistant Editors in the following subject areas:
- Araling Panlipunan / Social Studies
- English
- Filipino
- Science (Medical / Nursing / Allied Health)
- Minor Subjects
- ABM / HUMSS / STEM
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
a. Assumes full accountability for the output and the sustainability of his/her subject area. This involves matters such as but not limited to:
- Quality of projects assigned to his/her subject area based on the standards set by the Instructional Design Team (compliance to the curriculum, adherence to instructional design and framework, alignment of writing style, originality of the raw manuscript).
- Timely completion of projects in his/her assigned subject area based on the road map set by the Division Head.
- Efficient management of supplies, budget and other resources assigned to his/her subject area.
b. Edits for publication and for sign-off the assigned titles and ensures that the final sets of proofs transmitted have passed prescribed specifications and quality standards as to content accuracy and completeness, physical and technical design, and correctness in grammar, syntax, spelling, and punctuation.
c. Assists in revising/rewriting portions of manuscripts, if necessary, to ensure a sufficient and structured development of ideas in the text, and submits such portions for the further review of the Associate Instructional Designer or Instructional Design Manager.
d. Troubleshoots minor setbacks, issues, or other concerns that may cause delays or substandard quality of the team's final output; or otherwise immediately elevates any major issues to his/her immediate superior.
e. Provides support to the Associate Instructional Designer and Instructional Design Manager in all their editorial functions, and performs all the necessary clerical tasks for the projects in his/her assigned subject area.
f. Coordinates with the assigned Illustrators, Layout Artists, Art Directo, and the Digital Technology Unit to facilitate the timely and proper completion of projects assigned to him/her.
g. Safekeeps and organizes all materials (such as manuscripts, proofs, references, etc.) related to projects assigned to his/her unit.
h. Keeps herself/himself updated with the latest trends in print and e-learning resources through research and development to be facilitated by the Instructional Design Head and Manager.
i. Keeps herself/himself abreast with the print and e-learning products of C&E Adaptive Learning Solutions.
j. Performs other related functions that may be assigned by his/her immediate superior from time to time.
QUALIFICATION GUIDES
a. Education:
- Must be a holder of BSEd/BEEd/BS/AB degree in the required subject area
b. Experience:
- Preferably with at least two (2) year related work experience in an educational publishing or in an academic institution
c. Skills:
- Has a strong knowledge base in the required subject area
- Has good writing and editing skills
- Has very good research and fact-checking skills
- Proficient in computer applications such as word processing and in creating spreadsheets and slide presentations
- Able to prioritize several projects at once, handle large workloads, and meet tight deadlines
- Has good oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities:
Photo Editing & Curation
Review and organize large sets of raw photos.
Create shortlists of the strongest images for:
- Instagram and social media posts
Website galleries and print sales
Edit and retouch photos using Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, and Topaz AI.
Prepare optimized exports for both digital use and high-quality print production.
Maintain consistent visual style, tone, and quality across all images.
Video Editing & Curation
Review and organize raw video footage, trimming unnecessary or weak clips.
Select the best material that aligns with each project's story and objectives.
Edit documentaries, promotional pieces, travel reels, wildlife features, and event videos using Adobe Premiere Pro.
Create short-form videos optimized for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube.
Incorporate motion graphics, titles, and effects using Adobe After Effects.
Perform color correction and advanced color grading in DaVinci Resolve for consistent, cinematic visuals.
Add music, voiceovers, sound design, and subtitles to produce polished final cuts.
Creative Collaboration:
Work with provided storyboards, text briefs, or reference content to accurately interpret the creative vision.
Ask clarifying questions when direction is unclear to ensure alignment before editing begins.
Collaborate with the creative team to refine edits and storytelling flow.
Adapt content based on feedback and evolving project goals.
Workflow & Organization:
Maintain an organized photo and video library for efficient retrieval and backup.

Requirements:
Proven experience as a Photo & Video Editor with a portfolio showcasing wildlife, sports, events, portraits, documentaries, and promotional work.
Advanced proficiency in:
Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, and Topaz AI (photo editing & enhancement)
Adobe Premiere Pro (video editing)
Adobe After Effects (motion graphics, visual effects, titles)
DaVinci Resolve (color correction and cinematic color grading)
Strong sense of storytelling, pacing, composition, and visual flow.
