**Job Description:**
The Senior Analyst, Vendor Governance reports locally to the Director Vendor Risk in MBPS and works operationally with the Sr Director, Vendor Governance Management in North America (Business Unit) and is responsible for ensuring effective risk management of the Company's vendors globally. The incumbent will have a deep understanding of relevant risk management principles and best practices. The individual is accountable for driving and monitoring compliance to the Company's Outsourcing and Third-Party Risk Management Policy. As a critical element of the first line of defense, the Senior Analyst will monitor and manage vendor risk, including conducting risk assessments and developing risk mitigation plans for vendors deemed to be highest or heightened risk.
As a subject matter expert, the incumbent is expected to contribute to development and delivery of vendor risk management training and provide input to relevant policies, processes and tools. In this capacity, the individual must be skilled in influencing others to assess and monitor vendor risk and follow vendor risk management policy.
**Position Responsibilities:**
+ Partner on an ongoing basis with business units & internal subject matter experts to identify and evaluate all risks and risk mitigation strategies associated with procurement highest and heightened risk vendors.
+ Ensure Pre-Screening Questionnaires and Inherent risk questionnaires are completed on a timely manner and required actions are taken.
+ Participate in pre-contract due diligence of highest or heightened risk vendors. Assess impact of risk assessments on vendor evaluation and selection.
+ Participate in pre-contract clause review of highest or heightened risk vendors. Assess if any mandatory risk clauses are required, and action are taken to address the risk.
+ Reassess the risks associated with highest and heightened risk vendors prior to the renewal of contract agreements.
+ Proactively monitor all vendors for emerging risks and provide business partners with visibility
+ Ensure completion and compliance for all activities related to outsourcing regulatory governance.
+ Participate in monitoring risk incidents and remediation resolution including development and execution of corrective action plans and ensure follow-on reporting and monitoring. Evaluate and process complaints, appeals and grievances.
+ Participate in collaborating with the business to develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans for highest risk vendors.
+ Escalate vendor risk issues and compliance problems that have not been adequately addressed.
+ Support development and execution of a robust communication and training plan to facilitate the effective awareness and application of outsourcing and third-party risk management policy and best practices.
+ Serve as a subject matter expert in interpreting requirements and improving awareness of operational risks faced by the businesses from vendor failure/poor performance.
+ Engage Information Risk Management and other risk Subject Matter Experts such as Legal, Compliance, Operational Risk Management, Investigative Services and Tax, as applicable, for assessment and review of risks identified during due diligence as well as identification of acceptable remediation.

**Required Qualifications:**

Reporting directly to **Asia Finance Shared Service, Team Leader** , the Financial Senior Analyst is primarily accountable for general accounting and reporting through timely and accurate service delivery.
Responsibilities include the following:
**Position Responsibilities:**
Accounting and Reporting
The job holder will be allocated with Finance processes not limited to:
+ **Operations** - finance operations transactional in nature but has financial impact (e.g. Invoicing, Credit Card Refund, Daily Matching of Premium)
+ **Accounting Operations** - responsible in preparing, uploading of Journal Entry to facilitate month-end closing activities. Reconciliation of accounts and balance sheet items for regulatory requirements
+ **Reconciliation** - performs reconciliation such as Bank Reconciliation, Intercompany Reconciliation and System reconciliation to ensure completeness and correctness of financial information for the month
+ **Management Reporting** - to support needs of different internal or external parties.
**Quality Analyst/Reviewer**
The job holder will be given processes that will be subject to his/her review on top of his/her daily, monthly production work. It will be part of her responsibility to monitor junior team members work, ensure error-free submission and be accountable for the processes subject to his/her review.
+ Ensure that all processes/deliverables for the day have undergone internal review process prior to BU submission
+ Follow the quality checklist as documented during migration. Ensure that all team members adhere to the signed of process documentation.
+ Assist the leader in providing root cause analysis and action items for incidents encountered during the month.
**Trainer**
The job holder is responsible to train junior team members of the processes already migrated. Ensure complete transfer of knowledge through theoretical training, reverse shadowing, and guide the team members from parallel run to go-live.
+ Serve as the go-to person of the specific location in terms of the knowledge of the processes
+ Create training plan for new joiners
+ Assist the leader in task allocation and ensuring that all members are well trained and efficient enough to handle live production
+ Provide timely feedback on team members for the perusal of the leader
+ Provide coaching and additional training for items that needs further clarification prior to raising to the BU.
**Point-of-Contact**
Reporting directly to **Asia Finance Controllers - SSC, Team Leader** , the Senior Finance Analyst is primarily accountable for general accounting and reporting through timely and accurate service delivery.
+ Assist the leader and the project team in identifying processes that can be migrated in MBPS. Assess based on migration criteria and provide feedbacks and inputs as necessary.
+ Assist the leader in providing updates in the migration.
+ Serve as the contact person of the project team in getting regular updates, challenges encountered, results monitoring of the parallel run
+ Learn the processes to be migrated and provide timely process documentation following the standard MBPS format as aligned with the Control Tower.
+ Serve as the business unit point of contact for any process issues or task specific queries.
**Automation Champion**
The job holder is responsible in driving automation initiatives on processes handled by his/her assigned Business unit with the goal of improving accuracy and overall cost efficiency of the team.

**Required Qualifications:**

+ CPA with university degree in accounting, finance, or financial management.
+ Hybrid Work Arrangement: Amenability and readiness to work onsite and from home anytime (dependent on business need AND/OR current external environment/situation) and must be willing to work on a **day** shift schedule

The Financial Analyst is an individual contributor primarily responsible in providing support for the accurate and timely accounting and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts. The role involves analysis and interpretation of accounting data, accounting and reporting rules; impacts to the general ledger and assisting in the development of lean process and procedures. In addition to balance sheet reconciliations this role has a unique opportunity to partner with our Operational area to understand business procedures and influence change to reduce impacts and risks to Manulife and our customers.

**Position Responsibilities:**
+ Prepares and completes daily, weekly, bi-monthly, monthly, quarterly critical tasks that impacts several balance sheet accounts and Income Statement
+ This role is responsible for the timely and accurate reporting/communicating of risks to management, clearing expectations and process changes are appropriately provided to the impacted areas frequently
+ Accounting/Process Model is documented and captures the essence of the business and accounting flow to align with the general ledger and accounting practices.
+ Identify system issues and engage the appropriate parties to resolve issue timely and accurately.
+ Identify Risk to impacted areas and reporting issues to the management to rectify/mitigate risk
+ Ensure monitoring tasks report completion and proper controls are set and being followed
+ Meet all set timelines for each tasks being assigned
+ Documentation of rare cases encounter
+ Support projects as required as a subject matter expert, tester, or additional support at the discretion of the project lead, account managers, and FIC leaders
