The Role

We're looking for a strategic and creative Media Buyer to join our team full-time. Your focus will be on building, managing, and optimising paid advertising campaigns (primarily on Meta Ads: Facebook & Instagram) that generate real leads and results for our clients?You'll work closely with a team of editors, content strategists, and the founder to ensure ad campaigns align with each client's content strategy, brand positioning, and business goals.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the full ad lifecycle: strategy, setup, creative planning, testing, optimisation, and reporting

- Create and manage full-funnel ad campaigns using client video content (VSLs, testimonials, etc.)

- Review, analyse, and optimise campaigns based on key metrics (CPL, CTR, ROAS, CPM)

- Create static image ads and carousels as needed to complement video campaigns

- Use Excel/Google Sheets for budget pacing, performance tracking, and ad planning

- Deliver weekly reporting and insights using google sheets or other tracking tools

What We're Looking For

- Minimum 2+ years experience managing paid social campaigns (Meta essential; YouTube/TikTok a bonus)

- Proven ability to drive measurable results through Meta Ads (ideally >$10K/month ad spend)

- Proficiency with Meta Ads Manager and Events Manager

- Basic landing page and funnel understanding (preferably with GoHighLevel)

- Comfortable analyzing data and making smart, proactive adjustments

- Strong communication skills and attention to detail

- Design capability for basic ad creatives (image ads, carousels)

- Fluent in English (written and spoken) – Slack is our main communication tool

- Full-time availability within Australian business hours (Mon–Fri)

- Fast and reliable internet and computer setup

Bonus Skills (Not Required but Nice to Have)

- Experience with YouTube, Google Ads, or TikTok Ads

- Familiarity with tools like Zapier, Metricool, or GHL

The Good CFO is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to support our media, advertising, and marketing agency clients with accounting and finance operations. In this role, you will oversee essential functions such as general accounting, accounts payable, billing, and financial reporting. This is a client-facing position that requires exceptional communication skills, a strong understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

As a Controller, you will be responsible for supporting clients with accounting and finance activities including general accounting, accounts payable, and billing.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Finance and Administration

  • Document, maintain and seek to continually improve company policies, procedures, and values
  • Prepare bank deposits and/or record client payments
  • Support the month-end close process including account reconciliations and revenue recognition
  • Maintain cash flow reports
  • Support CFO with the development of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and monthly management reports
  • Support ongoing cost management efforts
  • Support ongoing reporting and forecasting needs
  • Manage fixed asset and depreciation schedules

Accounting

  • Maintain and update all accounting records and files
  • Maintain the company's chart of accounts
  • Establish and ensure compliance with internal controls
  • Establish and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
  • Support timely and accurate month-end and year-end close process including all account reconciliations and preparation of journal entries
  • Prepare documents for audits

Accounts Payable

  • Oversee accounts payable
  • Maintain A/P vendor master file
  • Oversee vendor onboarding
  • Obtain W-9s from vendors
  • Process all vendor invoices in (or similar tools)
  • Ensure timely payment of approved expenses in (or similar tools)
  • Complete and file annual 1096/1099 forms
  • Review and approve Expensify reports (or similar tools)
  • Respond to vendor & staff requests regarding vendor payments

Billing

  • Oversee all invoicing, collections, accounts receivable and revenue recognition
  • Set up all client and project codes in all systems
  • Set up and train employees on time tracking system
  • Prepare weekly and monthly WIP, client, and project profitability reports and analysis
  • Respond to client & staff requests regarding client billing
  • Create client and production budgets & budget templates
  • Analyze production and post-production time spent on each project

Qualifications

  • CPA or equivalent credentials
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including for a U.S. based accounting/bookkeeping firm doing accounting for their clients
  • Experience working with a marketing agency or professional services firm with time and expense billing is required
  • Know what GAAP and the matching principle are
  • Have experience interacting with vendors and clients
  • Extremely tech savvy and experienced with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and QuickBooks Online
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; this is a client-facing position and they will be communicating with our client and their staff
