Summary of Role
The Procurement Specialist will be the primary liaison between Purchasing and Cable Harness. He/She will work closely with the team to assess and select suppliers, ensuring adherence to Zama’s Supplier Management System, and to manage the operational aspects of the company’s Cable Harness programs.
The Procurement Specialist will be reporting to the Sr. Purchasing Manager and is responsible for assessing, sourcing, managing Zama’s Cable Harness suppliers.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Sourcing
- Responsible for the development and execution of the sourcing strategies for Cable Harness: analyze and monitor the actual execution of the sourcing strategy.
- Develop, update and review the purchasing budgets, price roadmaps & actual pricing for complete Cable Harness portfolio
- Responsible for constant monitoring of supply markets for Cable Harness and ensure to exploit these supply market trends for the benefit of the business
Supplier Relationship
- Accountable for preparation, conclusion and execution of contracts with the suppliers in order to cover supply risks and to optimize results on aspects like supply volume and flexibility, product specifications, quality and reliability levels, and pricing: settle and justify all commercial/pricing agreements.
- Responsible for fact-based choices in selecting, categorizing and developing Cable Harness supply base.
- Maintain close relationship with supplier’s global account manager, to ensure proper deployment of ZAMA requirements at supplier and be the focal point for any escalations towards supplier.
- Accountable for regular supplier performance & business reviews with suppliers.
- Ensure involvement of purchasing and suppliers in product creation processes.
Operational Excellence
- Reports/ manages performance measurements for Cable Harness and drive improvement projects, so that business requirements and objectives are met.
- Coordinates purchasing activities with Cable Harness Manufacturing, Planning and Engineering and Quality groups.
- Develops and negotiate price, payment terms and supply contracts.
- Processes purchase requisitions, Purchase order creation and submission, request for quotations to suppliers.
Related Experience and Educational Requirements
- 5+ years Purchasing Management
- Graduate of an Engineering Course
- Experience with highly technical Sourcing Cable Harness Components, Electromechanical and Equipment and Tool
- Extensive contract negotiations experience
- Strong analytical skills (i.e. cost modelling, quotation analysis, supplier selection)
- Ability to successfully interact and positively influence at all levels within the organization, included Executive levels
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Fluent in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and MS project
- Understanding about SAP
