Duties and responsibilities
1. Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers.
2. achine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.
3. Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations.
4. Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
5. Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
6. Repair and fabricate compression and injection mould repair and fabricate spare parts of the machine
7. Check all equipment produced work correctly
8. Do things that may be assigned by the Supervisor from time to time
9. Maintain good housekeeping practices in the area.
10. Submit periodic reports
11. Performs other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Educational Background:

**Job Overview**
TE Connectivity's Machinist Team's responsibilities include, assignment planning, layout, set up, operating and making tool adjustments for various types of manual, numerically controlled and computerized machine shop equipment. They work from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions, communicating directly with engineers to understand the purpose of a part assembly. Responsible for the fabrication of Die and Mold tooling parts. Individuals must have high skills in Conventional Milling Machine. To ensure smooth operations, the ability to implement 5S and improve QCD is required.
**Job Responsibilities:**
+ Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle.
+ Control and adjust Conventional Milling machine settings (e.g. speed)
+ Load raw material or parts to Milling machine.
+ Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools.

Under the supervision of the Project / Maintenance Manager, the Marine Mechanic / Outside Machinist provides a varied range of duties associated with the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of a variety of vessels / ships / boats / watercrafts including mechanical and outside machinist duties. E xhibits superior workmanship and focuses on a quality end product. Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure all tasks are accomplished safely and with an emphasis on quality. Completes all tasks in accordance with local Safety, Environmental, and Health directives. Addresses customer concerns in a prompt professional and courteous manner.
Responsibilities
Major Job Activities:
+ Performance of enhanced organizational level corrective and preventative maintenance on a wide range of tactical vessels / ships / boats / craft, and all types of vessel assemblies, systems and subsystems.
+ Repair or replace distillation plants, propulsion systems, generators, pumps, boilers, turbine engines, piping, hydraulics, air conditioning, steering control, valves, and fuel water testing.
+ Performance of corrective and preventative maintenance on outboard engines, marine engineering systems, water jet propulsion systems,
+ Management of boats, repair parts, tools, and ancillary equipment.
+ Maintain electronic service records and repair part inventories.
+ Operation of overhead cranes, forklifts, vehicle lifts, oil / water separators, air compressors, generators, and related equipment.
+ Conduct condition-based maintenance assessment of diesel and/or turbine engines.
+ Provide technical assistance, assessments / inspections as required
+ Assist with equipment grooms.
+ Observe / conduct cold / hot checks of equipment, note condition and parameters for any out of specification readings or settings. Conduct sea trials with vessels / ships / boats, as required.
+ Assist with the identification of parts and material needed to return equipment back to manufactures specifications.
+ Provide written briefs and reports as required.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
Material & Equipment Directly Used:
+ Requires intermediate to advanced knowledge and fluency of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
+ Strong analytical skills.
Working Environment & Physical Activities:
+ Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions.
+ Subject to both environmental conditions occurring inside and outside.
+ The worker is subject to noise and hazards to include a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
+ Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
+ Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.

Qualifications
Education:
One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education if degree is required.
+ High School Diploma
Experience:
+ Must be a Marine Mechanic with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience working in ship repair onboard US Navy or US Coast Guard ships (technical education may be substituted for a portion of the experience requirement)
+ Individual must have a keen attention to detail and be quality metric driven. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Preferred:
+ Experience in development of mechanical work packages.
+ Previous FMS experience.
+ HVAC and Outside Machinist skills including chill water and fire pumps.
Other Requirements:
+ Must be a U.S. Citizen
+ Current U.S. Passport with a minimum of 1 year prior to expiration and 3 blank pages
+ A valid Driver's License is required for this position in the Philippines.
