Responsibilities
The Southeast Asia (SEA) Public Policy & Government Affairs team's work spans across a broad and diverse range of functions and workstreams, including government affairs and government relations; policy and issue area expertise; risk and crisis management and mitigation; outreach, coalitions, and partnerships; and philanthropy. The mission of the SEA Public Policy & Government Affairs team is to develop and advocate for solutions for pressing high technology issues and to promote a political, legislative, and regulatory environment that supports growth and innovation for our business.
As the Public Policy Manager for E-Commerce, you will be the subject matter expert for Philippines, and provide cross-cutting policy advice on key policy topics related to e-commerce.
Responsibilities:
Build strategy and advise the company on emerging e-commerce public policy matters to ensure the success of the team's goals in Philippines and provide strategic guidance to internal teams.
Represent Bytedance to elected officials, government agencies and ministries engaged in e-commerce policy making on issues of importance to our company and the people who use the service.
Proactively identify and address emerging and significant Philippines e-commerce policy issues, as well as regulatory developments in the region, that could present risks with implications for the company and its products.
Represent Bytedance at high tech industry gatherings, trade associations and coalition meetings.
Work closely with cross-functional corporate and product teams on the development and integration of key e-commerce public policy projects.
Maintain and develop a strong network of third-party public interest groups, industry associations and academics engaged in technology policy issues.
Carry out research and reporting on domestic and international policy issues relevant to the company.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
Substantial experience working on relevant public policy issues in the Philippines.
Understanding of laws and regulations under which people who use Bytedance's products in Philippines and SEA are subject to is a must.
Sound judgment, persuasive and advocacy skills, creativity, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and often uncertain environment.
Strong research and analysis abilities: the individual will need to take complex situations and effectively communicate their implications for the company, as well as defend priorities for the public policy function.
Strong teamwork and communication skills: the individual will need to work with other departments including, but not limited to policy / legal / communications teams to assess needs, alignment and path for collaboration.
Discipline, strong sense of responsibility and self-drive.

**Qualifications**
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering (e.g., Electrical or Mechanical), Business Management, Economics, or related field AND 13+ years experience in sales, marketing/advertising, managing high performance sales and technical-sales teams, and/or leadership roles in multi-tiered large organizations OR equivalent experience.
