What Does a Ramp Equipment Operator Do?
As a Ramp Equipment Operator, you'll be responsible for operating ground support equipment (GSE) and performing critical tasks related to aircraft turnaround, baggage and cargo handling, catering, and passenger services. Your work helps ensure on-time flight departures and maintains safety and efficiency on the ramp.
Key Responsibilities
- Position ground equipment (GSE) at the aircraft parking zone at least 15 minutes before aircraft arrival
- Tow baggage and cargo dollies between aircraft, warehouse, and build-up areas
- Operate GSE such as tow tractors, forklifts, belt loaders, and air stairs
- Conduct 360-degree safety checks and brake tests before and after equipment use
- Load and unload baggage/cargo quickly and safely within carrier-prescribed time
- Handle special cargo including live animals, dangerous goods, and heavy items
- Install stanchions and divider nets before cargo door closure
- Marshal ground equipment and communicate via headset for aircraft servicing
- Follow safety protocols and ensure proper handling of all airport service equipment
- Clean, secure, and return equipment to its designated parking area after use
- Assist with cabin cleaning and passenger boarding assistance when needed
Qualifications For Ramp Equipment Operators
- High School or Senior High School graduate
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual labor in a fast-paced environment
- Holder of a valid Professional Driver's License (Codes 1, 2, 3)
- Preferably with at least 1 year of professional driving experience
- Experience operating forklifts, man-lifts, or ground service equipment is a plus
- Must be safety-oriented, reliable, and a team player

Responsible to perform task related to aircraft turn around, baggage, cargo and catering handling. This includes operating GSE and performing basic maintenance of ground support equipment, loading and offloading of aircraft, GSE marshaling, communicating via headset and activities related to baggage, cargo build-up and catering operations and also other tasks related to aircraft cleaning and passenger assistance.
What You'll Do
- Positions the required equipment at the designated aircraft envelope-parking zone at least 15 minutes before aircraft arrival
- Tows all cargo and baggage pushcarts/dollies to and from the cargo warehouse and baggage build-up area.
- Ensures that the cargo towed-out is accepted by the person responsible for the turnaround assigned at the planeside.
- Performs pre towing 360-degree checks of the push carts, dollies and ULDs to ensure that they are safely connected and secure
- Safely operates and connects the GSE to the aircraft.
- Performs the required 360-degree equipment serviceability checks before moving to or from the aircraft.
- Performs the required brake checks before approaching the aircraft.
- After operations, safely parks the equipment to their respective parking areas, accomplishes checklist and complies with the proper turnover procedures.
- Completes unloading/loading of baggage and cargo to/from the corresponding compartment within the prescribed time by the carrier based on the instructions received from the person responsible for loading.
- Securely installs stanchions and Divider Nets prior to cargo door closing.
- Exercises extreme care in loading/unloading of baggage/cargo to and from the aircraft compartment.
- Ensures that special loads (AVI, Dangerous Goods, Heavy Cargo, Dense Cargo, etc.) are secured and segregated according to the instructions received from the person responsible for the loading. Ensures markings or labels such as This side up, Fragile, AVI etc. are followed.
- Ensure proper usage and handling of all flight related equipment (e.g., cones, chocks, air stairs/aviramp, ULD, tail stand, trolleys, umbrellas, etc.)
A great candidate for this role will have these qualifications:
- High School or Senior High graduate
- Physically fit
- Holder of LTO Professional Driver's
- License (with 1,2,3 restriction code)
- Preferably at least 1 year driving experience.
- Preferably can drive & operate forklift & man- lift equipment

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Articulated Dump Truck Driver is responsible and accountable for the safe and cost-efficient operations of the Articulated Dump Truck in the attainment of the production target.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct pre-start check-up/assessment of the unit before start of the engine.
- Conduct post check-up/assessment of the unit after the shift.
- Follow instruction of the immediate superior or superior in the working or mining areas.
- Operate the equipment with utmost safety, care and cost-efficient manner.
- Provide written report at the end of the shift.
- Transport materials from its designated areas.
- Follow traffic and road signs.
- Perform related functions.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- At least high school graduate.
- Must have a 1238 license restriction code and NC2 for Driving (Articulated Vehicle).
- At least one (1) year experience in heavy equipment operations
- Ability to interact with staff (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient.
- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
- Willing to Work in Tuba, Benguet.
