**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Identify and correct potential hazards by inspecting facilities, machinery, and safety equipment. Review plans and specifications for new machinery and equipment to make sure they meet safety requirements.
- Ensures that systems for Crisis and Incident Management and Emergency Preparedness related to SHE is complied with.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of various industrial control mechanisms. Ensure that the plant complies with health and safety regulations, especially after an inspection that required changes.
- Review, implement and Install safety devices on machinery or direct the installation of these devices. Review employee safety programs and recommend improvements.
- Designs and documents system for Occupational Safety and Environmental management and ensure its conformance to relevant standards and regulations.
- Reports to the management on all critical and major issues on SHE for immediate corrections
**SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Manage contractors on site to ensure they meet legal and company requirements. Coordinates with interdepartmental group for the implementation of safety and environmental action plans.
- Keeps records of implementation and monitoring of SHE programs Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance strategy of safety and health programs.
- Liaise and communicate with other departments, customers, suppliers, government agencies and other service providers
- Performs other functions as may be assigned by superior from time to time.
**QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE LEVEL**
- Bachelor’s degree, typically in an engineering discipline such as electrical, chemical, mechanical, industrial, or systems engineering
- With 5 to 10 years’ working experience in safety and environment in food manufacturing facilities and FMCG, preferably in 3-5 years supervisory level
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- With good understanding of environment and safety management best practices and overall systems optimization.
