Position: Community Building and Engagement Associate
Number of hours: 20-40 hours/week
Schedule: EST
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Community Building and Engagement Associate to join our growing team. This is a critical role that will be at the heart of our user-facing initiatives.
You will be responsible for building a vibrant, supportive, and engaged community. You will be a champion for our users, a storyteller who can articulate our mission, and a strategic thinker who can develop and execute community-building initiatives that drive user growth and retention. This is a hands-on role for a true "doer" who is willing to go above and beyond to support our users and our mission.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute a community engagement strategy to grow and activate the user base, leveraging social media, events, and direct communication channels.
Responding to inquiries, moderating discussions, and celebrating user milestones.
Create and curate valuable content including blog posts, social media content, testimonials, and educational resources aligned with our mission.
Plan and host virtual and in-person events such as webinars, live Q&A sessions, and local meetups to foster connection and learning.
Build and maintain strategic partnerships with influencers, organizations, and community leaders to expand our reach and impact.
Collect and analyze user feedback to provide insights to the product and marketing teams and improve the user experience.
Track and report community KPIs , including engagement rates, growth metrics, and event participation.
35 years of experience in community engagement or marketing, ideally in a startup or fintech environment.
Strong knowledge of social platforms, digital engagement strategies, and content creation best practices.
Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, both written and verbal.
Proven ability to build meaningful relationships and foster online/offline communities.
Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently in a remote setting.
Strategic mindset with creativity and a user-first attitude.
Familiarity with tools such as Hootsuite, Canva, Eventbrite, Slack, or community management platforms is a plus.
Experience working with first-time homebuyers or in the real estate industry.
A strong personal or professional network in fintech, financial wellness, or real estate.
Experience with user research, surveys, or qualitative feedback methods.

Job Description
Sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), including Menstrual health and hygiene, is one of Plan International’s key thematic programs and focuses on ensuring that girls and boys can make free and informed choices about their bodies and they grow up receiving quality care and free from violence.
**Plan International** is currently implementing a project that aims to localize a Menstrual Period Tracking Mobile app (OKY), developed by UNICEF. The app provides access to 55,000 girls and young women in the Philippines to individualized menstrual hygiene and health and SRHR information. The project is implemented across the country with a particular focus on Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), Eastern Visayas (Leyte, Eastern Samar, Northern Samar, Samar), Occidental Mindoro, and Metro Manila (Manila and Valenzuela).
In line with this project, Plan International invites competent, experienced, and committed professionals to fill the following position.
Further, as Community Development Facilitator:
- **You will** be tasked to conduct community diagnoses with community leaders/members.
- **You will** facilitate the gathering/updating of baseline data into a community profile and ensure that these are communicated in the community.
- **You will** facilitate advocacy and dialogue to address Online Sexual Exploitation of Children (OSEC)/online violence with relevant private sector actors and policymakers.
- **You will** facilitate the development of an Annual Performance Progress Report (APPR) with stakeholders at the barangay and municipal levels including children.
- **You will **identify and train community volunteers to initiate and participate actively in community development work.
- This role will be based in Metro Manila.
**DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?**
To be successful in the role you will need among other things:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, Nursing, Community Development, and other related courses.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in community organizing and development with projects related to health. Hands-on experience in participatory approaches involving children and youth.
- Has relevant knowledge and training on program/project management, participatory approaches, gender sensitivity, and, gender and development.
- Previous work experience in a similar role or in a non-government organization/s is an advantage.
- Good verbal communication skills and the ability to relate to people from all backgrounds.
- Applicants must be based in the Philippines and a Filipino national.
Contract length: 10 months
**Salary**: Php23,000.00 - Php35,000.00 per month
