Job Description:

The position is primarily responsible in installing, configuring and maintaining Unix operating systems hosted on prem and in the cloud. She/He analyzes and resolves problems associated with the operating system’s servers, hardware, applications/software and detects, diagnoses and reports Unix related problems on the servers.

Responsibilities:

Administer Unix based systems hosted in AWS, Azure, Virtual private cloud and bare metal servers.

Manage and maintain Unix systems in scope to ensure availability, performance, scalability and security of all systems

Perform troubleshoog, root cause analysis and problem solving across platforms and application domains

Provide suggestions and recommendations for architecture and process improvements

Apply patches and upgrades as necessary

Your skills and experience should be:

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent

At least 3 years of experience managing Unix/Linux systems (RHEL, AIX, Solaris, OEL, Ubuntu, etc), file systems, storage environment and network protocols.

Knowledge of UNIX principles, file editing, UNIX/Linux commands and file manipulation

Basic understanding of VMWare/Network/Storage Infrastructure

Preferably with scripting skills in Shell, Python or Perl
